Ep 4 might be my favourite so far with that ending.

Everytime I watch this I have an urge to reread the comics but going to wait until at least the end of this series (Prob spend Christmas reading them like I did last year) although I might read the new tpb this week

Ep4 is the best one yet, I thought the ending was a dream but apparently not. Two theories:

Spoiler for ep4

ep. 4 = weakest episode til now: zombies as deus ex machina is a contradiction in terms.

Can you please edit out your spoiler. I read that completely unaware and am now a little annoyed. I suggest you get rid of it before the majority of people come back from having seen episode 4.

I guess because it was so out of place from what we had seen before.
Seemed a rather dumb place to camp anyway, still they live and learn I suppose

I'm really enjoying this series and don't know whether to start reading the comic books or not! I'm sure I'll crack at some point, probably at the end of the first series.

Roberto, can you edit out your quote of Matt's spoiler please?

At any rate, there already seems enough divergence from the comic to indicate that a lot of plot points from the comic are going to get junked.

Because you see things like that a fair bit, something shocking and unreal happens and then you find out it's the manifestation of the fears of the participant and that they're safe after all.

It's like watching a different story to be honest.
If it continues then I've got a feeling they're going to bottle out of a lot of the tougher storylines from the comic.

What like a Zombie attack during a Zombie apocolyse? I thought it was just a matter of when rather then if to be honest. I wasn't suprised at all

They let their guard down due to Amy's birthday celebration by the looks of it.... No lookouts. During day Dale is looking out from Camper van roof, seems there was no lookout on duty...

They have only been dealing with the odd straggler zombie occasionally so vigilence is bound to slip.

Also small groups of the dead could have been wandering and finally cottened onto the group who had fires lit at night (this was mentioned in last episode) and were making a certain amount of noise.

Only failure of the program was that it should have foreshadowed Zombie arrival by maybe an establishing long shot away from camp showing we can see fire from distance something subtle like that .

it wasn't a total shock as we saw a zombie eating the deer in an earlier episode...

i'm with some of the other posters who think that the zombies didn't just wander up there on their own... there were too many of them, and Rick etc didn't encounter any more on the road on their way back...

No something that's shocking that turns out to be a dream. I think it happened in Terminator 2 where it looks like the terminator finds Sarah and attacks her and she wakes up and it turns out to be a dream.

Best episode since the opener, but I'm concerned about the occasional poor dialogue and often frequent woeful acting. The hispanic guy at the camp has lasted two episodes longer than he should have, and the gang leader in the last episode was even worse. Also Rick has barely any lines and at the moment seems quite one a dimensional character, with a disturbing habit of putting everyone else in jeopardy.

What you mean like sun stroke guy going on about a dream he had for the last 20 minutes of the episode, the surreal way things were shot, the way the sun stroke going on about it just being like his dream.

i really was expecting him to wake up and warn everyone about an attack.

The bit with the hospital was almost shark-jumpingly bad. You can't treat your audience like that. Otherwise still enjoying this very much.

Anyway I've generally been finding this the best place to go after an ep to see the differences from the comic (when it gets updated), thought I'd better share:
