So what? If it tanks in the ratings from now on you think they won't change their minds?

Did the comic really have a "mind numbing tedium" issue?

I seriously doubt that. Ratings for the third episode were up from the second episode, and that's a very rare occurrence on American TV (it was expected to drop in viewing figures before levelling out). And bearing in mind the comic has remained phenomenally successful, steadily increasing its readership over the years, I can't see the show doing anything but replicate that success.

Sounds like you really need to stop watching - you're certainly in for more of Episode 3 than 1 & 2, and for many of us that's definitely a good thing.

Nope, pacing of the show's a lot slower and this episode is mostly new material.

I found ep3 to be the best yet - the comic is all about the characters - they are the walking dead - not the zombies.

I loved every minute of it, I'd get bored pretty quickly of it was nothing but 45 mins of zombies... each to their own, but for those of you who were bored by this episode - maybe the series just isn't for you?

Won't stop the bored detractors posting in this thread down the line to remind everyone how much of a snoozefest it was for them (but they still watch )

Tiny comic spoiler:
I'd argue that your 'tiny' spoiler is actually quite a big one. I had assumed Andy was talking metaphorically as opposed to literally.

Warning for people - this is not a TINY spoiler - it's a pretty bloody huge one!

Thanks Woz

Edit: Beaten to it by Pummra - but glad to see I'm not the only one! (I'm up to comic number 35 so far).

I'll concur, with the above. That's a BIG spoiler, and not something I've come across yet in the trades so far.

Eh, there are degrees of enjoyment. You don't either have to purely love something or purely hate it and nobody's said that all three episodes were terrible. People are allowed to find one episode boring after they've loved the two previous ones and are entitled to keep watching for whatever enjoyment, however minimal that may be, they gain from it.

The whole "if you don't like it then don't watch it" attitude when someone displays any negativity is what ruins a lot of these threads.

With respect to the massive spoiler - it's gradually revealed throughout the first four or five volumes. That said, I'm pretty Morgan mentions it in the first episode of the TV series.

I'd read it since issue 1 (infact all these are about to go on ebay - all first prints!) and I didn't even know that... have I missed something.

I thought it was a metaphor :thicko:

Apologies, still haven't read any of the comics, so watching this without knowing what is to come.
