I have been using WMM a lot recently, and I've noticed that it does hang/freeze at regular intervals, normally when editing using the timeline.

I presume that there will be no fix for this as I am not even sure it is a product that is still under development.

I just made sure I saved at regular intervals to ensure if it did crash, my losses were minimal.

Apart from the crashes, it is quite a good little tool, especially for knocking up presentations at work as it's the only tool I have access to.

It's an annoying package at times and it lacks the nice features Apple give you in their movie making package.

I don't know how to solve its reliability but you can the cut down versions of Sony Video Vegas for under £50 new. I use an old copy of Vegas 5 I picked up and comparing the features it would seem the 'platinum' one can do everything your average home movie person needs. It's a great package and far more powerful than Windows Movie Maker. I've no idea what the 'Pro' version does extra that warrants a £400 price tag...
