Dammit. I'd have made an effort to get tickets if I'd know Adamson was supporting. I don't suppose Cave did The Sweetest Embrace with him? I love his stuff.

That would probably be covered by his "we haven't done that in 20 years" type replies to insistent request makers. Mostly new stuff and only one murder ballad (staggerlee as an encore). He doesn't do greatest hits tours unlike some old folks due to still knocking out decent material.

Murder Ballads is a great album, for some reason I avoided it when it came out but it's great fun (in places), and not as depressing as it sounds.

To be honest I don't think he's ever released a duff album, so it's all good stuff IMO. No More Shall We Part might be a good choice, and also The Boatmans Call if you fancy Cave in a slightly mellower mood.

I got into his stuff fairly late on, and found that working back from the more recent albums was a good way to explore his music.

All great albums...Nocturama gets a bit of a slagging by some people, it's certainly not one of his best, but worth having just for the last track "Babe, I'm on fire" which is awesome.

Yes it is. And the girl crying is Peaches Geldof. There's another guy in the video who looks familiar (he's sitting alone at the bar around the 7 minutes, 30 seconds mark but I can't put a name to his face).

Well, I now have all his album apart from...

The soundtracks he has done
Live Seeds
B-sides & Rarities!

I am really looking forward for the Abattoir Live cd to arrive...

Am I missing anything else? Is it worth picking up the titles I listed above?

EDIT: Scratch that...just ordered, Live Seeds, B-Sides & Rarities & the best of with additional live cd! (the completist in me needs a contract taken out on it)

He looks like the "gangster" bloke (Andy?) that owned the club in Eastenders! He was then chucked over the side of a flyover by the bloke out of the Bill!

Just the cd's will do me

Does the Cavester perform the live versions differently to the album versions?

Well, there is the Lectures CD. If you live near a Fopp you might be very lucky and get it for around 7 quid (like I did)

Don't be in a rush to complete your collection. I listened to:

Murder Ballads
No More Shall We Part
Nocturama
Henry's Dream
Let Love In

For months on end!

The 4 disc (2 dvd 2 cd) of Abattoir blues is well worth having for the live versions, different harmonies love the versions of easy money and supernatutal on here.

Also the film of Babe I'm on Fire which was a bonus disc.

Also check out the Singles DVD some interesting versions and mad video's
