Good news indeed

http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/ne...165.html?r=RSS

The production, which is based on the best-selling books of George RR Martin, provided a significant economic boost to the local arts scene and sustained hundreds of on-set jobs.

Filming on the second series is due to begin at the end of July.

Stormont First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness welcomed the fresh commitment from HBO.

"The return of HBO to Northern Ireland is a huge endorsement of our local creative industries," said Mr Robinson.

"HBO's first visit to Belfast in 2009 was a tremendous boost for the city and for Northern Ireland's economy as a whole."

Mr McGuinness said: "HBO's commitment to return to Belfast will lead to the creation of more jobs and generate considerable income for our local economy.

"We are determined to place the creative industries at the very heart of our efforts to grow the local economy and we will continue to do all that we can to convince companies such as HBO that this is the place to come."

Quite brilliant, but I have no idea what that scene with Julian Glover was supposed to be about! Kudos to Cersei for continuing on to shag her way through her entire family

There were a few characters I didn't recognise in that last one. Twas superb though, could do with a website that breaks it down and takes you through it scene be scene! COme on Alan Sepinwall, you did a superb job with the Wire.

I have to say, I'm as precious about these books as a Jehova's Witness is about The Bible, so I was rather cynical when the series was first announced.

So much for cynicism. HBO have done a wonderful job at bringing the books to life. Utterly superb from beginning to end. Fan-bloody-tastic.

That closing shot was just awesome and looked far better then I imagined when I read the book. It is going to a long Waugh for the second series I really hope the blu ray has extended versions of the episodes.

I liked Tyrion calling his dad a **** as well! So did we finally meet the other Baratheon as there was a scene with two blokes I didn't recognise, but then it might be Roberts brother we have met and I'd forgotten what he look like! Also the comment on the Stark behind the wall also confused me, whats that all about, has that been covered before?

Not sure I'm with you, but that's probably a reference to Benjen, Jon's uncle, who has gone missing north of the wall.

Yep it was a comment about his uncle, remember that being mentioned. I take it its only been mentioned in passing so far, was he a guard as well then?

He was the head ranger who brought Jon to the wall.

He's been in the series... guy with a goatee and a serious disposition. He led a small troop out on an expedition north of the wall. His comrades were later found dead and came back as the "zombies" or wights a couple of episodes back. They've not found any sign of Benjen though.
