There's several rather nice cover versions of NWA's Straight Outta Compton, the best of which is probably Nina Gordons (ex Verucca Salt).....well worth seeking out, if only for novelty value!

In a similar vein, Ben Folds with a cover of Dr Dre's "Bitches Ain't ****"

Oh, and worst, most versions of What a Wonderful World except for the Joey Ramone version (and of course the original, which wasn't a cover, obviously).

There's a massive thread on this, though it might have been pruned by now.

Still love Tricky's Black Steel.

I heard Personal Jesus by him in Virgin today. Quite liked it.

I take it One is the U2 song, would be fantastic if it was Metallica!

I like Maximo Park's version of Natalie Imbruglia's "Shiver".

Also, Postal Service's cover of Phil Collins' "Against All Odds"

At work on saturdays, there is only my department so we get to play music. My co-workers heard the first 3 seconds and thought it would be a nice soft song (because of her voice) but then they heard the rest and were a bit shocked

Sure we have done this thread loads of times before but my favourites (in no particular order):

Nirvana - The Man Who Sold The World
Johnny Cash - Hurt
Radiohead - Nobody Does It Better

And not a particular song but Placebo's covers album had some great covers on it

Can't be bothered thinking of a worst as there are just so many bad cover versions out there.

I'd never have the balls to play that at work - Can I have my P45 now please......

There's a great country version of NWA's "Gin & Juice" about - possibly Kenny Chesney???

Worst - Shatner's version of "Rocket Man" - god awful.
