New vs. old X-Files DVD seasons

I have seasons 1-8 of X-Files, and was thinking of selling them to make some extra $$ then eventually acquire the newer ones down the road. But I read somewhere that the new versions do not have any extras/extra features? Can anyone confirm this? It may be a selling point, or a reason to hold on to them.

The New m-lock releases are missing some extras.
For example Season Four of the original release has a 7th disc of extras - this is not included in the m-lock release.

Are you sure about that? I know some seasons in the M lock have a 7th disc as they just put it something like a cardboard sleeve. The packaging only takes 6 discs.

Perhaps the 7th disc ones are just the seasons where there is at least one episode on them.

I have the digipack versions and hate them. I just put the discs in my own 8 disc cases with custom covers.

My M-Lock version of Season four has the 7th disk. It's in the sleeve of the booklet as nwgarratt says.

I don't think there are any differences between the new and the old packaging.

Desidarius, are you enquiring about the US or UK releases?

The UK M-Lock releases have the exact same number of discs and extra features as the original releases.

The US 'slim' re-releases are missing most of the extras from the original digipacks, so if you have the originals you should hang onto them!
For info on the US re-releases see tv shows on dvd.

True. I have all but Season 1 in M-lock / R2 and as far as I can tell, everything is there.

I'd keep hold of them then mate, unless you'd consider switching to R2 instead.

The UK release of both versions of season 9 is missing the 90 minute documentary "The Making of The Truth" that was on the original R1 foldout version
