Time for me to unsubscribe from this thread, I think. I'm waiting for the paperback (or at least for Christmas!) so I won't read Dance for a while and am hugely spoiler-phobic. I'll be back when I've read it. Hopefully (and probably) before he writes the next one.

Looks like I'm right on track to finish my series re-read on the day that Dance is released, I just need to do 2 chapters a day on A Feast for Crows.

My second readthrough of Feast is an interesting one, although I enjoyed it originally I did feel (as many others did) that nothing really happened in it. Using the Tower of the Hand website as a companion as I read through the series again, there is actually a huge amount going on, it's just beneath the surface. Moreover, while Feast is lacking in big action and surprise twists compared to the previous books, it REALLY gets into the characters in a very deep way and reveals a lot about them.

Probably the least exciting of the series so far, but possibly the most intriguing.

I made the mistake of starting to read David Copperfield to try out my Kindle - only 10% of the way through so I will have to start ploughing through that hard if I want to have cleared the decks before Dance comes out.

Doing the same thing myself. Enjoying the book quite a lot, though it pales in comparison with the others.

No shock revalations in the spoiler, but mention characters in the last book (and thought some may not want to know who's still alive)

The beauty of the Kindle is surely that you don't have to worry about that. Read Dance... in a few days and then flick back to Dickens without missing a beat?

thankfully it is a piece and not weight restriction although I can see them considering it an extra piece

Gah! For some reason (don't ask why!) I assumed it was released 2nd July - but I see it will be released 12th July. So much for my in-flight reading....

Out of curiosity, where are everyone buying Dance with Dragons from? - I assume Amazon is the best bet?

I'm guessing it's a bit too uncommon for tesco etc to ahve it in-store with a big discount for the first week??

Yep, Amazon. I chose free delivery though, and their estimated despatch date is not until the 13th, so I'm not sure if I'll end up getting it on release day

Must get round to ploughing through the Tower of the Hand chapter summaries as a refresher before the 12th - that review has pretty much convinced me that I can't wait for the paperback and will be going for the Kindle version sooner rather than later.

Wow, very excited now - and that review seems to say the opposite of the one I posted here a few pages back.

Waterstones' are advertising it online at half-price I guess it will be that price in the shops as well, also you can order online for in shop pickup. I will be buying two or three copies, one for myself and one or two for birthday and Christmas presents.

Ordered the first book form Amazon a few days back. I’ve never read any of them before so I’m looking forward to getting into it.

Yep. Bloody good price and Amazon have always been very reliable. Don't mind about getting it exactly on release day since I plan to take it on my hols at the end of the month.
