Will Kung Pow become a cult movie?

At first glace it seems to be a fairly amusing kung fu movie spoof. But the more i watch it the more i love it (weo-weo-weo) the funnier it gets. (You guy's must try it drunk)

What do you think?

EDIT - Whaaarrrr

No.

I've got some HK Kung fu films that are badly dubed and far funnier than Kung Pow.

I think this film deserves a lot more credit than it gets. People don't seem to take much notice of the fact that they have very cleverly made a new film out of an old one. The scene where they replay the same clip of the old man waving his arm but saying different things each time is hilarious, and then swallowing the CGI fly to cover the random coughing he did in the original film.
It’s also a very good DVD with loads of features.

But.... Woody Allen did it (better) 35 years ago!

(as well as Steve Martin.)

don't worry Roberto you're not alone, i've seen the film around 6 times, and virtually everyone i've shown it to has asked me to get them a copy off the forums, and they've shown it to their friends, and overall i think i know of around at least 30 people who've seen it now, and they all loved it. Kids REALLY like it. And there is just so much to quote!!

and yes i've tried it drunk, well actually only seen it sober once, still funny, but being drunk makes it a greater experience!!!

'What do you get when you cross an owl with a bungee rope'
long pause
'my ass'

pure class!

I definately think this will be a cult classic, there are people who downright hate it, and there are those like me who really love it, and that's what makes something a clut classic!!

PS -great DVD too

I really like most of Steve Oedekirk's stuff and it was seeing his name on the video sleeve that made me rent this. It's got a fair few jokes that fall flat, and some really stupid bits but I was in stitches throughout most of it. Absolutely loved it.

But his stuff is definitely love/hate.

I have to say that i think this movie is utter rubbish! Not funny and just plain silly! I agree with most of of the people on here that technical wise it's all been done before. I don't think I laughed once!

Well I loved it too!
But then I also loved Freddy Got Fingered, so perhaps my opinion doesn't count for much!

Have to say I've seen 2 absolutely rotten "comedies" over the last few weeks - this was one of them. I was really looking forward to it, the premise seemed so cool, but the execution was terrible. I must have laughed 2 maybe 3 times - and even these were forced. My brother actually went home half way through, he was so bored.

(BTW, the other was goldmember - the 1st 2 were great, this was awful - how the mighty fall!!)

I love Kung Pow and the alternate soundtracks are the best I have heard for any DVD.

My most watched DVD during the last few years ... at least 6 - 7 times ...

I love this so much I am dying to see Steve oderkerk's Thumb series ...
