Star Trek : The Next Generation Season 3 Box Set

Got this today from DVD.co.uk and what an excellent set it is. However my disc 6 is a little scuffed although it appears to work okay. I would like to swap it but I don't want to return the whole set to DVD.co.uk. Anyone know what Paramount's address is here in the UK.

Why not email dvd.co.uk and see what they say?

Hi

We would just replace the faulty disk not the whole set. We prefer to do this is it is less hassle (and costs less in postage).

Give an email to returns@dvd.co.uk stating your order reference and the description of the fault, they should sort you out.

Any problems give me a shout.

Rgds

Bloody Paramount! Costing me a fortune in boxsets, they could make the releases further apart, Ive only watched the first 2 disks of season 1 so far, let alone other sets!

Proactive customer service. I like it! Doubt it will ever catch on in the country as a whole, but I like it!

I think they should speed up the releases.
Every TNG set that is released brings us closer to the only Trek series worthy of a DVD release : DS9.

You don't have to but them as soon as they come out, if you are struggling to watch them why don't you buy the next box set when you are ready to watch it ?

I would agree that DS9 is a superb version of Star Trek simply because it is so very different from anything that came before or followed but I still rate TNG as the finest version of the franchise but everyone has their own opinion. I will certainly be buying DS9 when it is released next year. Matthew, thanks for letting me know about your policy regarding returns, I will contact your returns department about getting hold of a new disc 6 for Season 3.

i wouldn't say it's the only one worthy of release...i'll be buying TNG as soon as i rob a bank/get a job...but DS9 will be essential, pre-order type thing

I was just viewing an episode from this box set today "The High Ground" on disc three and noticed that right at the start the sound is not there. It jumps straight in "Captain's Log Stardate..." so there is a second or two of no sound, should be the music score. Wonder if this is another faulty disc (if that's the case then I would have two now in this set) or just the way the episode has been mastered onto DVD. Typical really, the finest season of The Next Generation and I have a couple of dodgy discs.

I get that silence too, so it was mastered that way.

At least I know it is the remastering and not the disc. Thanks Mr Nice. All I have to do now is return Disc 6. Was thinking of returning Disc 7 to as on "The Best of Both Worlds" when I first saw it I got picture break up at the point where Worf is telling Picard that the Borg are hailing him by name. But it did not happen the second time.

Exactly - DarkAvenger - is DS9 definitely being released next year?

Not in the strictest sense but they have botched it slightly by cutting out the music at the start. It may only be a second but it has been botched.

Does anyone know what the R1 picture quality is like?, I was a little dissapointed with what they have done with the R2.

I'm thinking of going R1 from season 4 onwards, even though it will be more expensive.

i'll ned to replay it but i dont remember the music being cut, evan briefly, when i watched it today. Mind you i wasn't paying much attention. The only "cut" music i had was with the Intro when you put the disk in, it missed the first 1 second while the speakers autosensed the format ect. (Digithearter DTS)

Is this the intro to the disc or the intro to the actual episode "The High Ground" because I have a second of no sound on the episode, but I have not noticed any problems with the menu sequence.

intro to the disk its on every single disk (Star Trek or otherwise) You know when you put the disks in you get the theme music with the Cast picture as the Enterprise flies past? its then that it happens, just the first second of music.

I think its the speakers that cause it, but the episodes all play fine. Watched the intro to High Ground again, no problems with sound there.
