That’s all well and good but you can’t own it that way.

Below is a listing of just the Star Wars “Movies” I have on disc, also have Rogue One but that was another letter and didn’t fit on the phone screen. Pretty sure I’ve got the Original Trilogy on Blu-ray too but it seems to be missing I’ll have to check the shed tomorrow.

Digitally I own eps 1-6 on Amazon

BTW the Square TLJ is a 12” cased UHD version, in case you hadn’t guessed. Also both TFA and the other TLJ are also Blu-rays despite the listing.

  • 'faded Luke'
  • 'fly on the lens'
  • 'strange instance of new flash frames being inserted to cover up the tiny Vader lightsaber'
  • 'accidentally showed part of the film with the soundtrack on it'
I'd no idea they'd dicked about with it so much !

I suppose if you go through it frame by frame you're going to find things to fix.

The Disney+ 'Maclunkey' version was supposedly the final cut that George Lucas gave to Disney. Kathleen Kennedy has always said that it won't be messed about with once Disney owned it.

Thanks. I confess that IMHO the 1997 and 2004 versions looked worse than the 1977 ones in those shots. If the 4K BD colours are closer to 1977, I would not mind that at all.

Mine is £180 too. Didn’t realise they’d put the price up, which means I’ll probably keep it.

Gah. That’s how they get you...

If I could fix one thing only in ANH it would be to remove the Han meets Janna sequence it's a crap sequence that ruins the reveal if the falcon when Luke calls it a piece of junk.

In Empire I return Vader's order back to "bring my shuttle"

In Jedi cut out the dance sequence

Yeh there was a lot of bits added to those special editions which were just there to "add some minutes" to justify it. I don't think they improved the films at all.

Apart from cleaning up (possible redoing the lightsabers so they look like the prequels) and fixing some of the see thru cockpits in Empire hoth scenes ; it was a case of it ain't broke but they still fixed it. Switch out the dialogue on Dagobah and Vader was totally pointless. In a few cases these extra bits and pieces messed up the cues from JW's score. Certainly in the escape from Bespin there is a point when the whole things stops just for a ROTJ deleted scene added in which makes no sense

Did any of the recent version ever fix the 'Emperors Slug'?

That always bothered me in the original version of RotJ, and pretty sure it was still there in the first lot of updated versions.

The Rancor scene also had some bad matte outlining on the rancor as Luke runs past/behind it that needed cleaning up - not sure if they were either.

I hate the replacement of Annakin Skywalker's Force Spirit from Sebastian Shaw to Hayden Christensen in ROTJ. Which version is in the 4K set?

The former, Lucas was never going to change it back. Your only way now is to get 4k83 I think.

Sorry, you've lost me there. Former? That would be Shaw?

There's only four films in there worth watching though.

No way I am ever going to pay money for the "McClunkey" version of Star Wars!

Also, if I'm buying a 4k version of each why would I want to shell out for the normal Bluray version as well?
