Yay! Another show about racism & racial violence in America. Just what the world needed!

Just perhaps... not every show is made especially for you?

I've been more or less enjoying the series, but I thought that episode 3 was a big step up in quality. The introduction of Jean Smart has made a huge impact, what a fun and intriguing character (and now some clear links to the original story).

Yes, episode 3 was a stunning hour of television with the introduction of a certain main character from the graphic novel. Every line of dialogue she had was perfection. So sassy, funny & cynical. And when she revealed what she had in that case, I howled with laughter.... Brilliant!

No, but as a fan of the movie & comic books in general, this one really should be. I'm just tired of 'woke' political stuff being rammed into every single TV show.

Anyhoo, as mentioned above, the third episode was an improvement in quality & the first one that felt like it actually belonged in the Watchmen universe.

The 'all cops wear masks' thing is still stupid though, no matter how they try to justify it.

Must say I'm really enjoying the series so far. I don't really know a lot about Watchmen so perhaps the negativity comes from fans of the universe, In saying that I thought the Movie was decent.

Being a fan of the leftovers and Lost, I'm fine with a slow build and being kept off balance. Not always entirely knowing what is going on is part of the fun.

I read the comics when they came out in the mid 80s and I'm really enjoying this. It's certainly no more political, probably less so, than the original.

There's a podcast available now btw with the guy who did the Chernobyl podcast and Damon Lindelof that's well worth a listen - but it does discuss race if that sort of thing upsets you.

Nobody else watching this? I'm enjoying it a lot now its getting into its stride. Episode 5 has been the best so far. Loving that they are following the original comic rather than the (pretty good) film going with the space squid attack in New York.

I'm loving it for the most part. Intriguing plot, interesting world, great casting and design. Jeremy Irons and Jean Smart are clearly having a blast.

The one thing I think the show has not handled well is the exposition to explain the original comic. It seems like the writing gets incredibly clunky, on-the-nose and overwritten whenever they do this (Laurie calling up "god" on the phone, forcing Petey to tell the story of her mother's rape, or the "American Hero Story" snippets). The opening of the last episode was the exception, that was a beautifully realized sequence, but then later on we get the awful video tape of Ozymandias.

One episode left and I'm loving this, its right up there with Chernobyl for me as some of the best TV of this year or any year.

It’s got better with every episode & is light-years ahead of every other show this year. Fingers crossed they nail the ending next week.

With the likes of Succession & Chernobyl, HBO prove once again, they are the cable station to beat...

I thought it was utterly fantastic.

One of those occasions when the general viewing public got it wrong (at first) and the critics got it right.

Brilliant.

Well, I thought that was an utterly glorious series! Must rewatch it though and check out the last few Peteypedia entries too. I love how they've done the expanded universe thing with that and also the soundtrack albums set in that reality.

BTW, there's an official podcast which has three episodes covering the whole season with Lindelof - its well worth listening-to.
