I've heard of a steaming pile, but that's some serious work

You could use a ziplok bag with (perhaps) one of those silica gel bags inside. As long as you don't drop it under water you should be OK.

Not an Aquapac, but very similar. Stick in a couple of sachets of desiccant and that should take care of the moisture

I got my kindle for Christmas and I love it, found myself reading a lot more, I think its a better experience than a book. The print is clearer, if you are.reading in bed its easier to hold and the fact that the screen doesn't go down to the bottom of the device means you don't have to lift it higher and change your grip to read the bottom of the page.... plus your thumbs never get in the way.

I still prefer the feel and smell of a real book but you can't beat Kindle for convenience. Also encouraged me to read more. Normally I read about 1-2 novels a year I must have read 5-6 books since I got my Kindle.

On Christmas day my mum was looking at the kindle. she said the same thing, it doesn't smell like a book. promptly my brother-in-law telling her they inject it with the book smell. she paused for a second then sniffed it. We all fell about laughing at her

she also, despite knowing I was getting the kindle, brought me a massive hardback autobiography... she went into waterstones and asked them if they sold kindle books... they didn't

Possible idiot question alert

If I buy a US Kindle can I download books anywhere in the world but only from Amazon US?
Also, if I'm not in 3G range can I download to my omputer and then transfer to the Kindle.

I suspect the answer is yes to both but want to make sure before I take the plunge.
Thanks

afaik : you can only register at a single amazon site at any one time, but can update your settings from one country to another (and back again) at any time.

Holy crap, Amazon fired my Kindle out in no time! Pretty much 24 hours from ordering until it was through my door and that was with super saver delivery so top marks! I didn't actually know about it though as I didn't make it home until midnight so haven't had much of a play apart from playing with some settings
