Need new compact camera

My missus has been badgering me about getting a new compact digital camera for use at parties and holidays.

Canon G9 - Is this really the best about? Expensive at £270. Now discounted due to size and cost.
Ricoh Caplio R7 & 8 - heard about poor reliabilty of the lens. Now discounted due to size.
Panasonic Lumix FX33 - does this suffer from poor low light performance
Canon Ixus - but which one?
Nikon P5100 - does this suffer from slow shutter lag?

Criteria
Needs to have good wide angle for indoor/landscape photography
Viewfinder would be preferable but not essential if other features make up for it.
Good quality CCD and lens
Good low light/high ISO performance
Uses SD cards.

Can anyone offer any (user) opinions and provide recommendations.

Cheers

Huge fan of Fuji F series SuperCCD compacts myself (not their cheap ones which use normal sensors).

F100 is the current model - about £160 on Amazon, though there are allegedly some banding issues.

Older models F50 goes for about £120, but doesn't have the wide angle 28mm lens.

These cameras have a strong following amongst serious photographers because of their superb reputation for low light photography.

Here's the review of the F50 on DPreview

I've been doing some further research and have narrowed it down to three models. I've had to discount the Fuji as it requires xD cards which is a shame.

Casio Exilim EX-Z1200, 12 MP
Panasonic Lumix FX500, 10 MP
Canon Ixus 860, 8 MP

Has anyone used any of these and can you recommend them?

Nikon P6000 was announced today. But even more expensive so probably out of your price range and not actually available yet!

Even has GPS.

F50 and F100 take SD or xD cards.

I have a Canon Ixus 70 as my compact and love it. Takes really good photos, plenty of options if you want to be a bit creative and looks smart.

Taken with an Ixus 70 this year.

I didn't realise the F50 took SD cards - just confirmed off their website! How does it compare image wise to the Casio? I've just been to Jessops to have a play with their stock and I have to admit they all handle pretty well.

Fuji are usually the best at image quality, although the F50 hasn't really improved image quality since the F31fd a couple generations ago, the F31fd is still way ahead of almost any other compact camera in it's class that th e F50 is still the best.

This is taken on my Fuji F11 (2 generations back from the F31, 5 from the F50), showing the crowd settling down for my event at the Edinburgh Festival yesterday.

The flash is off. It's not spectacular, grainy even, but no other digital compact would produce half decent colours and a usable image in a darkened theatre.

I actually made the mistake of buying a non SuperCCD Fuji F480 and it wouldn't have made that shot at all. You'd have just got a grey/red blur.

After much thought and careful comparisons of images from the Panasonic FX500 and Fuji F100FD I opted for the Fuji. The picture quality was far superior and I can live without the manual and touch screen features of the Panasonic. Got it in Jacobs for £200 including a Fuji leather case, 1GB xD card, 3 screen protectors and flight case.

We have a wedding this weekend to go to so we'll give it a good going over!

Cheers for everyone's help.
