Best ultra-compact camera?

My digital camera got lost at our wedding so I had to borrow my brother-in-law's old Casio Exilim for the honeymoon pics. Now I'm kind of addicted to having such a tiny pocketable camera, so I'll be looking to replace it with something similar!

I liked his little Exilim, and I've heard decent things about the whole range, but are there any others I should be considering? I'm after one with a bit of optical zoom, ideally around the £150 mark. Any recommendations?

Having bought one recently, I'd say a Canon IXUS would be ideal. I got the IXUS 40 from Jessops for £190, pricematched to Amazon. Great little camera, worth the extra imo.

You can't get much slimmer than the Casio S100 if you still want a zoom lens. It's apparently a cracking little machine, and with tonnes of great features, too. 7dayshop have an iPod white one for only £130. But you won't be able to resist the special aluminium case for another £15. It's only 3MP but that's more than enough if you're not making posters.

That's interesting, thanks!

Been looking at the Casio Z55 on the casioextra site, £160 for a refurb - will head over to 7dayshop for a look now tho, the S series is that little bit smaller and sexier!

That white S100 is indeed sexy... odd that the white one's cheaper than the regular one, but there you go. Haven't seen anything nearly as good for the same price, so I'll probably be ordering one - if the missus agrees (and I suppose I should check that the old camera really is lost first...)

I just got the S100 (white) from 7DayShop. It's well worth the money, still waiting for my case and memory though. If you want any shots I'll be happy to post them up.

Is it worth going for the S500 instead.
Looks just as good, but it's 5MP
How much difference am I going to notice by upgrading?

Got my S100 yesterday, mmmm it's sexy

I'd say go for the S500 if you really must have 5MP. I think it also has a larger battery - but this means the S100's actually the smaller of the two.

Have to say though, I think the biggest difference I'd notice would be the £100 bigger hole in my pocket!

The S500 looks like it's got a decent video mode built in http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_...s/ex-s500.html

for around £150 I can have either the:

S100 or a Fuji F455

I'm leaning toward the F455 as it's 'technically' more of a bargain at the price. What would you choose?
