No chance of an imminent release - It is listed on some R1 sites but is unavailable - never been able to find any reviews so I think it must have been shelved at some point as opposed to deleted.

It's available in Spain, and in stock at DVDGO , but the shipping's a bit expensive for a single disc order.

Hmmn, for some reason my link to the English language version of DVDGO doesn't work properly, and takes you to the Spanish page instead  If you go through the main URL www.dvdgo.com you can choose the English language site.

Anyway, shipping is a flat rate of €11.72 for packages up to 0.5kg (approx 4 DVDs).

that's brilliant thanks! Any idea what dvdgo are like for customs? postage price suggests I'ld be better off ordering a few discs ( - not that hard!! ) but don't want to risk customs charges!

Customs shouldn't be an issue - DVDGo is based in Spain, which means they're as much a part of the European single market as we are.

The dvd is not very good though. It's a little too wide (seems like 2.45:1), making everybody look a little too fat. Image quality isn't very good, it looked like a mediocre ld transfer to me......

mmmm now I'm torn - don't mind paying just over Ł20 ( if it's a case of that or VHS! ) but don't like the sound of a squashed picture?? Is it really that bad?

No, it's not that bad, but it's still noticable.

It didn't keep me from enjoying this great movie again, but after I watched it two times I traded it (and I did that more because of the "overall" quality than because of the minor squashing). Still a far better presentation than my (P&S) VHS (taped from TV), but I think I'll wait for a really good version to watch it again....

This was screened on FilmFour last week (week before) - its still sitting in Now Playing on my Tivo.
If it's still showing you might be able to convince someone with a DVD recorder to make you a copy - as its for review as part of a course this should be 'fair use' if my rusty media law is still current.
I only have VHS - I'll do that for you if it helps - email me if you're interested.
