Up by as much as 30% at one point yesterday, and down 10% today...

Bit of profit taking going on I think. I've decided I'm going to hold mine - the amount of oil they are talking about is large, and there are rumours about a takeover of LOGP in the future.

RRL and RMP showing good gains today and XTR is swinging back up again, though it has been up and down for a week or so.

My portfolio just touched 20% up...

I was tempted to take a small punt on LDP this morning as it drifted below 0.4 - couldn't really afford or justify it though. Now 40% up

Balls. XTR's Luna well was a duster. Shame as it's **** all over what would have otherwise been a brilliant week for my portfolio.

Luna really was a coin toss but going to be holding this for a while now I think!

Finishing above 1p will be seen as a minor victory the way its bouncing around at the moment.

Oh well, still 4 more wells to go.

Eek! WorldSpreads have gone into administration! http://www.worldspreads.com/default.html

Luckily I only had a few hundred in there (and that was winnings from a free bet promo), but I had thousands in there not long ago, so bit of a lucky escape. Anyone else use them?

Bit of a scary thought though - what would happen if a share trading companies went into administration? Is your money protected up to £XXk like banks are, or anything like that?

you'd request paper shares and move them elsewhere I'd imagine, you still own the stock even if it's held in a nominee account.

Weekend rumours seem to have done the trick again for RRL and RMP, both rising nicely this morning.

Good stuff, made up for my losses on XTR from Friday. However, I'd imagine that there will need to be news soon to maintain these rises, any significant delay in these markets seems to always result in a retrace.

Portfolio 21% up today though (again, despite XTR which is now a long-term hold which I may even flip to my pension) so a great 2012 so far.

Aye hoping for some news on LDP by end of the Month/Early next month.

HRN moved well today and so did RMP and RRL, let's really hope that they have hit the motherload again on the last section and the well test confirms commercially viable oil. That would really move us into new trading levels.

Later the better for me, hoping to at least put some pension money in there, possibly some normal funds to if I flip my XTR holdings across.

Latest from AOI.

"The Company also reports that the Horn Petroleum operated Shabeel-1 well on the Dharoor Block in Puntland, Somalia is currently at a depth of 2,383 metres and is drilling ahead to a planned target depth of approximately 3,800 metres. There are no results to report at this time."

New RNS from Range, with ups and downs:

- announcement of offshore drilling agreement in Puntland
- possible sale of Texas wells, with share buyback or cash handout being considered if they do sell
- new opportunities in Colombia
- 150m new shares being issued to raise some capital.

Three good things, one not so good, so down the share price goes. Might as well take advantage of it I guess, so I've dumped a few with the intention of buying them back if the price goes low enough.

I can see why the natives are restless - on the plus side, more great asset potential but a big downside is more dilution PLUS it is only asset potential, nothing has been realised as yet.

Even the progress on T&T has been disappointing, if Puntland doesn't come off then the price will plummet I would think. Fingers crossed but starting to get a bit narked, these placings all seem a bit pally.

The fact that Range has moved for the offshore deal so quickly means that Shabeel-1 is looking very good. Think about it, with success in Shabeel-1 those offshore blocks would be hot property and Range may not have been able to secure one.

...or they aren't as confident as the rumour mill suggests but are happy to keep punting and therefore thought it would be a great idea to tie down the offshore and get a placing down before the Puntland result is in. Money in the bank and more licenses secured if it is a 'duster' (which would be an unfair description as they have found interesting evidence of oil if no commercial stuff is located).

I don't think Puntland is a done deal yet - long way to go.

The Colombia deal is also for 3bn barrels OIP, so Range will have 65%. Not bad?

Agreed, not bad at all, but it is still all potential at the moment and we are now up to 2.2bn shares in issue. No doubt a couple of minor interim placings will add to that before the next significant news if Puntland isn't an immediate success.

I'm staying in, without a doubt, would just like to see some more results from Mr PL!

RRL has so much potential right now for the future value BUT and it's the key here, it's all about realising assets and selling some of the oil to market. Production figures have not been met and we need to sell. This is the key bit from the RNS for sure.

"Following approaches from various parties in relation to its Texas project
interests, the Company is considering the potential sale of these interests
following the P1 and P2 reserve upgrade expected to be completed in April 2012.
In the event that such a sale is undertaken, the Company will consider several
capital management alternatives for the sale proceeds, including a return of
capital and an on-market share buyback."

That, along with progress on T&T (which I know is out of their control somewhat with the sign-off delays) would be a real positive. My preferred route would be share buyback I think but a dividend would also be appreciatively received.

A strike on Puntland and everything probably changes but I'm that is far from certain... yet.
