i've really been enjoying this. started watching from episode 3 but the only episode i really haven't enjoyed that much was because of jar jar. even the character of ashoka hasn't been as annoying as i expected. thought it would struggle to be anywhere near as good as the first clone wars series

Well, we got to see what Grevious used to look like - all the statues were of him in his non-robot form - but I'm guessing the reveal of his face as it is "now" is still to come...

Also - added "spoilers" to the thread title now - seems sensible.

It does give a good balance between good and evil to be honest. Nice for once to see that the good guys don't always come out on top. Shame though that a few characters have either been over hyped eg R2D2 and C3PO, or you know from the 3rd "prequel" film that they're going to survive no matter the odds.
Still a bit too much Jedi agility though - too much like computer games what with being able to leap over anything yet in the 3 Star Wars films, nothing like this from anyone.

Good animation and storylines though and a definite improvement on the previous 3 min or so shorts.

Do we know Grevious's history? I thought we were going to get a glimpse of what was under his face plate. He is a really intriguing baddie.
there are a couple of books that feature him. there's a wikipedia/wookiepedia page as well.

Well, the original films feature a retired Jedi, a crippled flame-grilled Sith and a floppy-haired farmboy who's had to start from scratch. So the lack of similar abilities in the originals is not a problem for me at all, although there are glimpses, like with Luke in Empire (as saigon pointed out in that "spoiler" ) and also his nifty backflip onto the walkway when he's fighting Vader near the end of ROTJ.

Plus all Yoda's jumping about in Ep II, Anakin jumping across the hanger to save Obi Wan from Dooku in the preceding scene, and Obi Wan jumping about three levels up during the Darth Maul fight in Ep I.

Lucasfilm will begin releasing the series on DVD on March 24, starting with volume releases.

Due at the end of the year is a complete season boxset on DVD and Blu Ray

What aspect ratio is Clone Wars ment to be? because the US Cartoon Network has been something like 1:85.1 but I saw an episode on Sky and it was 2:35.1

EPISODE 13 was, once again, excellent.

Some of the drawing and animation during the opening battle was jaw dropping.

Oh, and they have got the shape and face of Aayla Secura down to a tee!!

A friend at work has been recording these for me from Sky, the first 10 episodes were approx. 1.85:1, but epsiodes 11 and 12 were 2.35:1.

Ouch! Four episodes per release, that is just taking the ****.
I'll be waiting for the complete season on Blu-Ray, as the movie looked superb on BD. Could be pricey though.

I'm sure I read somewhere that it is made (almost said filmed!) in 2.35:1 but broadcast at 1.85:1 for some reason.

Hmm - I'll definitely wait for the boxed set. But based on this, I'd assume they'll be going for the HBO (i.e. very expensive) pricing model...

But the series IS still excellent - and the battle scene in episode 13 was better constructed than anything in the beginning of Sith. See George - less IS more!

This finally started on Cartoon Network today at 10am with the Yoda/Clones and first part of the Malevolence storyline.

Really, really enjoyed it, to my huge surprise.
I really liked the less dour version of Yoda in the first episode. Gets back to the character's ESB treatment more then anything in the prequels.
Glad Williams' themes are being used more on the soundtrack too.

Also saw theres a 2 minute trailer for the 'Ryloth' trilogy arc on the star wars website. My inner Expanded Universe geek nearly freaked out at 1:36 I have to admit.
