Clickers are tougher this time, lost count of the number of times I've been attacked when I thought I was being very careful, I'm quite enjoying working out how to take out runners without being spotted by the others.

The throw brick/bottle & strike system is an excellent addition, I use that a lot.

The sniffer dogs are ******* decided best option with those is take out the dog first....

Playing on moderate is a good balance for me, think I would find the harder difficulties too frustrating.

Yeah. Thereís no right or wrong way to play this game, and Naughty Dog should be applauded for the wealth of accessibility and scalability options.

Survivor mode, for me, seems the definitive way to play these games. Mainly due to the limited ammo, necessitating more focus on crafting and stealth. Itís so time consuming and punishing though, so not everyone will want to make the investment of time and patience.

I confess though, Iíve considered lowering the difficulty more than once! They havenít even added trophies for the higher difficulties this time around.

I think for me, the time consuming nature of the game is the issue... I want to play it through and enjoy all the set pieces and story etc.... but I get probably 30min-1hr a day to play 18 rated games (kids, work) so it's a month or two of gaming realistically. Adding repeating sections over and over just becomes a frustration.

The where to go next arrow is pretty useful as it stops a lot of the aimless wandering.

Oh I only get an arrow like that after a while of aimless wandering!

Even on very easy and Iíve only died a few times, each Chuck seems to take 7 hours.

I mean I am fine as I am a student so can play all day. But itís not a quick blast game unless you just want to leave it at a random point. Rather than feeling you have completed a bit.

Finished the story... what a slog!

I did miss the great writing from the first game, characters you really cared about, those amazing scenes like the intro, the ranch, Henry & Sam, those real emotional moments.

Don't really have a problem with how this one played out, esp with "that" scene and how it changed the focus of the whole game. The ending and choices made as it reached the finale din't work so well.... just seemed a bit off.

and the final reveal was as...

Even if it is a bit messy, and an over long brutal roller coaster ride I did enjoy every minute, the lighter bits were still great, quite a lot of the darker bits will definitely stay with me.

Some highlights for me were..

Finished it and I have to agree with RCW. Itís far too long and all over the place as a narrative. Itís a great shame, as the execution and attention to detail is stunning.

They couldíve easily cut about ten hours from this game, and sold it as an expansion at a later date. It wouldíve been a much more satisfying, tighter experience.

from what I've read its too long but selling content already made is never good idea, better idea is give it away as "free" download or even short or long story versions of the game

I kinda meant cut from development and made as additional content later.

I may split it as 2 games when I come to the half way point and take a break then to play Spider-Man. Then do the rest.

Thatís a fairly sensible approach, but there are a few bits right near the end that resonate better if you have the start of the game still fresh in your mind.

cool will probably just be a weeks break.

Luckily i have got work to do this week to break it up, it would be a bit draining to just play it every day (which i did Sat-Monday)

Well I finished this last night.... got to say it was okay I guess. Not a patch on the first one. And I do have some serious issues with the story which I felt was all over the shop at times.

I don't hate it, but I don't love it like I did the first game. The animations and art are superb and what they've got out a base PS4 is amazing. From a technical point of view its a developer at the top of its game. However its overly long and overstayed its welcome by the end.

But the story just didn't work for me.

agreed, it took me a while to get used to...

It didn't take anything away from the first game for me, but I can see why it is so divisive.

saw the news earlier about the (inevitable) petition to re write the story

I think I'm going to leave it a while and I might re-visit it. See if that makes any difference.

Guess it was just a case of damage limitation after the leaks.

Understandable that a lot just wanted....
