Mignolet must be kicking himself

Hopefully we have learned a lesson from City - get the game won early / in the first half so you can ease off in the 2nd half. Though Sky seem to think "winning the 2nd half" is a thing now

VAR + Mike Dean = fantastic combination.

Sterling's goal is clearly shown to be offside but VAR allows it, VAR is used to tell Dean that the penalty has to be retaken even though City players were also encroaching ( despite Riley stating, just the other week, this would not be the a use of VAR ), the laws of the game state Fabianski HAS to get booked for coming off his line but no card is given, City's final goal is clearly preceded by Gundogan practically rugby tackling a WHU player so VAR - according to latest implementation process - should disallow the goal but ...

Different season with, supposedly, error reducing VAR but the same old ****, weaknesses and corruption from the worst refs in the world.

Corruption? Seriously? Call them incompetent but not sure you are going with the corruption angle.

They have been corrupt, sometimes by their own admission, for years.

Sounding like Alisson has a Grade II calf strain/tear ... ruling him out for 4-6 weeks

Who are the officials who've admitted to being corrupt?

Clattenburg has openly admitted he went into the Chelsea v Spurs game (the year Leicester won the title) knowing that he wasn't going to book any Spurs player

I will need to track down the source but it was just after/before he buggered off to the Middle East

Follow up article ... https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...-a8094701.html ... though he actually went into game making sure he wasn't going to send any Spurs player off rather than just book them

LOL Celtic are out of the Champions League. Last year's beaten semi finalists, Ajax, scrape through 5-4 on aggregate ( mainly thanks to Pawson awarding them 3 penalties tonight )

Sadly, Porto - the Pot 2 team we probably would have wanted - are also out.

In other news, Keita managed to get injured in training this evening

Exactly.

How VAR sees that reverse angle for their penalty and decides the ref is correct is bizarre in the extreme

If you didn't laugh, you'd cry ... Adrian might not be available tomorrow after being injured by a pitch invader on Wednesday

Just wondering how an injury time winner being chalked off for City squares with the conspiracies?

Got away with it today. Rubbish first half that we ended in the lead somehow, then after virtually putting the game to bed Adrian decides to have a brainfart. Lucky for us Agent Ings missed an absolute sitter to equalise.have to improve for Arsenal next week.

There were some right idiots behind me yesterday; moaning about all the things VAR should be doing, blaming the first half performance on "they only played 72 hours ago what do you expect" ( but then never queried how we were so much better in the 2nd half ).

I am sure the whole 'awful 1st half, much improved in the 2nd' happened a lot last season as well.

Both our goals were very good I thought and, hopefully, that Adrian mistake will be much like Alisson's brain fart against Leicester ie the only one and one that didn't cost us any points.

Well you've already got a 2 point gap over City! Keep it up and that's the league won

Is everyone gone on holiday or switched allegiance to City Anyway, couldn't have asked for a better start, 4 out of 4, an early season trophy in the bank and just need to hope the international break doesn't hamper our rhythm or pick up annoying injuries.

It's early days, but it does rather look like it's us and City again this year.
