I’m in too. Stupid but looks highly entertaining. They filmed the McLaren/motorbike chase just around the corner from where I work. Having no Vin Diesel is a bonus!

Didn't Jason Statham's character murder one of the main heroes? Now he's their buddy?

Continues to look bloody awesome & absurd in equal measures.

Shame we've now probably seen EVERY action scene the movie has to offer, but i'll still be first in the cinema queue!

So is this a spin off completely independent of the Fast & Furious timeline or is some knowledge of the franchise required?

Not sure about being their buddy, but Dom made peace with him after he saved his son, as lentini said. Hobbs never really had much to do with Han in the previous films so he’s probably not as attached as the core “family” of street racers. Hobbs is more of a close friend of the family.

I'll keep mentioning it, at least Han got a funeral, poor Gal Gadot got nowt. Sorry I'll give this a pass, the last FF was ott and not in a good way.

Please lets have a Crank 3

Yeah Han moped about a bit but that was it. She had the poor timing of dying before Paul Walker’s tragic accident. It was reall FF7 where they took that whole “family” thing and cranked it to 11.

Saw it today and its really fun, its mindless action that does not pretend to be anything else. I bet Mark Kermode rolled his eyes so hard as he rushed to some art house film to strangle **** himself to death

You don't need to watch any of the F&F films really as the film could be its own film. The film is "hard" 12a, shame it was not a 15 to have more bone breaking fights, etc, it quite bloodless most of the time even when someone is getting the **** kicked out of them.

spoiler for the end

edit: also Eiza González

I had high hopes for this but I found it a awful disappointment. I love some mindless fun and suspending disbelief but this just went to far with most of the action defying the laws of physics.

Badly directed action sequences, shockingly bad effects and went on far too long. The only good thing about it was the banter between Statham and The Rock.

It was film making by the numbers. They know their target audience, and they know what they want. It's made plenty of money so the suits will give themselves a nice bonus for getting it right...
