[Multi] Watch Dogs - New game from Ubisoft

Ubisoft revealed a new IP during their E3 2012 conference by the name of Watch Dogs. It looks to be an open world, stealth-action title with multiple ways to achieve your objective and a heavy emphasis on manipulating your environment via hacking (in the world the game is set in entire cities are operated by a single computer system).

It looks pretty stunning and by virtue of being a new IP has garnered a lot of praise and attention already.

Intro video and gameplay demo from the Ubisoft press conference:

No release date but it's coming for PC, 360 and PS3 so is probably a 2013 release.

Watched the gameplay vid earlier and it's pretty stunning. With this and AC3, Ubisoft have stolen E3 for me this year....

That looks alright dunnit?

Can they keep up the attention to detail for a whole city or will it be fairly closed off I wonder?

The way they've done the living moving city is brilliant. Craps over GTA4.

That looks like it good be really good, or a kind of sci-fi, on rails, press a button to launch an extended animation, closed world GTA affair.

Hopefully the former, as the visuals, level of detail in the city and the duck/cover while using a smart phone gameplay mechanic could be great fun.

This looks like what the Syndicate update should have looked like.

Running on a high end PC that was, wouldn't be surprised to see this and Star Wars 1313 slip into "next gen".

Atmosphere on the city streets seems amazing. Rockstar are going to have to raise their game to match it.

Sadly it reminds me of Alan wake. Impressive visuals that hide a shallow game

Rockstar have to build a city you can drive around in at 100mph. There's no way you could do this kind of detail in GTA without having a loading bar every 10 seconds.

This game looks really good, probably means it will be crap, plus Ubisoft seem to **** up most things.

Seeing as their last big game (I think) was Driver: San Francisco, my game of 2011, I'm looking forward to this. Shame we'll probably have to wait for the PS4 / XBOX 720 to get it!

You're absolutely right but didn't he get into a car at the end of the video? Isn't that misleading people into believing you'll be about to bat around the city at 100mph?

Ubi have a pretty uneven track record. It's been speculated on here that the Assassin's Creed series have alternated between various development teams due to the varying quality of them. You only have to compare the footage between AC3 and ACR to see exactly what I mean!

I have a feeling that this will get released around the same time as GTA 5, you know Ubisoft would love to steal some thunder from Rockstar.
