Panasonic SD90 camcorder £270 (2012 Limited Edition with extras)
Found this on Amazon.co.uk, though was £250 when I ordered yesterday and now it's dropped to £239.99 (update - I emailed them an they said they'd refund the difference for me as a one-off thing - quite lucky really as they've now upped the price to £270, probably because it's attracting attention):
It comes in white with a London 2012 logo on the side, with a leather case and supposedly a 'One Year to go' Royal Mint Commemorative £5 coin in gift box, which if it's the one I've seen on the John Lewis and Royal Mint websites goes for £100.
Oh, and there's a promo on to get a free Amazon Basics camcorder bag worth £12 too, so not bad! The regular black version of this camcorder is £367 at the moment.

Reason: change title, add price change info
Seen this elsewhere and ordered it although looking at the promo for the bag, the white version of the sd90 camcorder isn't listed as being in the offer however if you add it then it does apply the discount when you get to the checkout.

Hmm... yeah, hadn't noticed that! Presumably just forgot to add it to that page as they have the details on the camcorder's product page and as you say, the offer does work when you go through the checkout.
Found this unboxing vid on youtube, though can't seem to get it to embed. Badly framed but shows the stuff you get, including the boxed silver coin:
Had a look on ebay, unfortunately the £5 coin isn't going for quite the same as the one on John Lewis! Seems to be about £10 or so on there so about the cost of a 16Gb memory card
The ones on a card for a tenner or so are cupro-nickel, but the boxed ones are .925 Sterling Silver. The guy in that video I linked to mentions the coin is sterling silver too. Can't find any mention elsewhere of what actually comes in the box though, other than 'commemorative £5 coin'. If anyone finds out will be very interested to hear, but will let you know when I get mine - should be delivered on Tuesday (HDNL - yuk!).
Oh, and I had a reply back from amazon saying just this once they'll refund me the £10 that it has dropped, so will be getting it for £240 too.
Indeed, and if you look at the 2012 logo, it's blue on the silver coin but plain shiny metal on the cheap coin. In the pictures of the SD90 pack it's blue and the coin in the video had a blue logo too...

Got it too for £250, mine has shipped and due on wed. Don't think they refund price drops like this one, only on pre-order items that drop between the order date and the dispatch date. Still only £10, and still a fantastic price.
And after close inspection of john lewis and the amazon images, it looks exactly the same as the coin selling for £99.50 on john lewis! When I looked at this one a couple of weeks ago in the Panasonic shop in leeds, the sales guy said the coins were selling for around £60 on ebay!

Reason: more info
couldnt resist... went for one of these.... they get amazing reviews even at the £500 price point so for £239 its a great price...
As for the coin... after alot of studying i would say its the £99.50 one on john lewis... its identical.... and as someone pointed out , that unboxing on youtube clearly shows it..
on another note... anyone after the 3D adaptor lens thats usualy £150 or so.... if your VERY lucky with stock... PC world have it showing to collect in store at a rediculously low £30... finding stock though....

Before u say it....... No.. im not dead...... ;)
I had a look for stock on pcworld and currys, but nowhere has stock of the 3d lens. I have seen that on amazon for about £80 though so if I manage to flog the coin for a decent amount then I might treat myself to one of them.
And they've made some other seller punting it for £240 the first choice... quite sneaky really. Note that you don't get the free amazon basics bag if you buy from another seller.

Will update the title and first post...
Am I missing something tho ? £240 + £13 for the bag is cheaper than buying the two for £270 ?

Yeah - amazon was doing the camera for £240 with the bag free but now they have increased the price to £270. Wouldn't have taken the bag had it not been free.
Never used a camcorder that writes to SD card before. How hard is it to take the file that this camcorder records to and transfer it so it plays on a standard DVD player so Granny and Grandad can see the kids tearing up my back garden?
