Question Orange Swapables - Sky Sports

I have been offered what seems like a decent contract for Panther 26 (?) - 200 mins, 3000 texts, 750 mb data for 2 years at £23.40 per month. That includes a Galaxy SII.

I like the idea of getting Sky Sports included, so was wondering if anyone else uses Orange Swapables for Sky Sports?

Just wondering how good the quality is, whether it would be worth it for TV viewing over HDMI.

I'd probably use that and Deezer if it's a decent service.

I dont think you get sky included, just a player that plays sports from an existing sky contract, if im wrong someone please let me know as I'll be jumping on it if I can get sky sports as part of this deal.

I just got the same contract ( unlimited texts though ) for £26 a month so it sounds like a good deal to me.

I thought if you have Sky Sports on your mobile or iPad using Sky Player they specifically block you outputting to a TV as they want you to pay for the more expensive TV satellite packages

You may be able to do via SkyGo but then you are already a TV subscriber

I've got the sky swapables and it's pretty good, you basically go to a web site, select the channel and away you go. Picture quality isn't as good as Sky go and i've had problems watching streams on certain wifi (doesnt work at work but ok at home - both on BT)

Hope that helps

Do you need the Sky Subscription for it? I have seen 1 article hint at it but I cant find a definitive answer.

I cant see this being a way to get sky sports without the Sky Subscription but I just cant see what this swapable gives over the existing sky app.

You don't need an existing subscription to Sky.

From the comments and what I have read I don't think it's any benefit if you already have Sky Go.

Cool!. I dont have sky sports subscription so this could be a bloody good deal.

I just downgraded from a higher contract to Panther and now get 2 swappables for free, Free sky sports could be excellent.

Time to try and get HDMI out going on my phone there's bound to be a hack if they are trying to block it.

You also get ESPN on the swapable which is the main reason I got it

Mines Vice versa, I get ESPN on Virgin but Sky sports is far too expensive.

This swappable could be a godsend.

Has anyone actually managed to connect it to a TV then? Or is the quality too poor to bother with?

I connected Sky Go to my TV via MHL cable last night, for the first time.

Quality is a fraction below SD I would say...

This would be a good send if swapables were working for me, I waited 2 weeks before trying so that my bill date has passed. but its just telling me I need to buy them rather than having 2 available.

Phoned Orange and got the default "clear cookies and try again" crap. need to call them back from another line and go though it with them.

Finally!.

I've been playing around with the sky sports and Deezer stuff, so far im really impressed by deezer.

Sky sports is like watching an average data stream, workable but not great. but better than paying for sky and I get to see Man City matches more now

I cant recommend Deezer enough at the moment. The fact you can download the albums and listen to them offline ( via it's app, you cant access them as MP3's ) is excellent.

It seems to have quite a good selection of bands as well, some of the rare ones I like are on there.
