Cowboys & Aliens
How had I not heard of this before? Jon Favreau is directing a new graphic novel adaptation, starring Harisson Ford, Daniel Craig + Sam Rockwell.
Personally I haven't heard of the comic before but the setup sounds ace -
An extraterrestrial species lands in Arizona in the mid-1800s. The aliens plan to squash the Wild West and enslave humanity, but the cowboys and native Apache have other plans.
No idea how seriously it's being taken, but I'm guessing with Jon directing and the cast it's going to be a fairly comedic action flick?
Currently filming, slated for a 2011 release. Imdb link
here
Haven't read the novel, imagine a few people here might have, any good?

I thought it was really good, I especially like the way there's no translation of the alien language (although i think some people with way too much time on there hands have deciphered it). It's really gritty.
Why not have a read for yourself:

Can Harrison Ford finally break his 20 year long losing streak of picking duff movies?

17 years, surely. The Fugitive was 1993

Damn.
Looks astonishing. I would have expected it to be played campy.
Notice Damon Lindelof of Lost and Star Trek fame is one of the screenwriters

This looks great...and does exactly what a teaser trailer should do.
Looking forward to this!

I wouldn't have even stepped into this thread unless someone I know pointed out your post, so I wouldn't want to disappoint.

Hmm, I shouldn't be surprised I guess but the trailer looks nothing like the story in the graphic novel (I thought) it's based on.
Looks okay though.

Same here.
Hope this isn't going to be 'coverted' to 3D.

Shouldn't the title have more appropriately been "
Cowboys vs Aliens "? That would have suited the horribly cheesy atmosphere.
That woman, with that hairstyle and cut of her clothes, looked as 21st century as anyone. Maybe she is an alien?

I'll watch it as long as it isn't in 3D...
Until then...
