Unhappy New problem: iaamonitor notify app not responding

"iaamonitor notify app not responding"

This has just started happening over the past couple weeks [noticed it right after switching BB from Sky to O2 and wife installed Quicktime around the same time; sporadically during log-off or shutdown (ie not all the time but at least a couple of times a day).
Clicking "close" and it shutsdown fine

I d/l the latest version of the Intel Storage Matrix Driver and admittedly installed over the top rather then uninstalled and reinstalled but that made no difference.

Any ideas on how to resolve please?

Switching broadband would be a coincidence.
Probably Quicktime too.
You neglect to mention what OS you are running and what raid setup.
What red flagged events are listed in the event manager ?

Sorry Ian
WinXP Pro SP3 [fully updated].
The Matrix Controller is listed as Intel ICH9R/DO/DH SATA AHCI Controller (after I updated it last night by over-installed newest driver.
I am not running RAID [single hdd].
There has been no other changes to the system at all over the past few weeks

The IAANTMon is listed in Event Manager only with a quote bubble - no red or even yellow flags by it

The only yellow-flag that might be of relevance is this:
"Event Type: Warning
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1517
Date: 27/02/2010
Time: 23:50:10
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: TURTLE
Description:
Windows saved user TURTLE\wops registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use.

This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account."

Although I see that is also occuring on occasions when I did not get the error

You could try installing Intel Rapid Storage which is the replacement for Matrix:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sear...id+storage%22#

And/or you could turn off the service. Which I have - not because mine errors, but simply because I don't need it.

According to the release notes - there's a known bug with that error coming up on XP in the last version of Matrix if it was installed in safe mode. I assume you didn't do that?

No. I didn't actually use the latest version at all until I read (re)installing the latest version might get rid of the error.
To my shame I admit I did that the sloppy way anyway by simply installing over the top.

As I don't use RAID I will disable it in MSConfig and see how it goes.
