You'll need to provide administrator permission to copy this file

So annoying when copying files from my external HD...

how do i remedy this?

What location are you copying it to - the root of the system drive, or program files?

- Right click on the drive in "my computer"
- Under the security tab choose "edit"
- Go to the "Users (***/users) where the * are the name of your login.
- Tick the box which says "full control"

Then it'll rifle through the drive's files for a bit.. then it'll work.
