Caught the first episode of this and really enjoyed it.
Its a like a weird animated "Our man Flint" - the hero is some kind of secret agent, his mother (who he hates) is his boss and there's a bevy of attractive women queueing up to shag/kill him.
Laughed out loud at the scene where

Archer gets an erection when his mother is being held at gunpoint

Hopefully this will be given a chance by the networks as it could be really good.

If you like Archer then check out all the Adult Swim programs, Frisky Dingo is by the same guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab 2021, Harvey Birdman, Spaceghost Coast 2 Coast and lots of others. I'm surprised this is on FX rather than AS.

Seriously, this is well worth a viewing when it turns up on FX. There are trailers all over.
Its from the guy that did Sealab and Frisky Dingo but this one is just pure class. I must have watched it ten times already.
About a secret agent with issues.

Can't believe there's so little discussion of this. Season 1 (10 episodes) has just finished and its been comedy gold right through. Biggest bunch of dysfunctionals i've ever seen in a series.

Great to hear its been renewed for a 13 episode second season.

I really like how Archer is only negligent rather than just being incompetent. A lot of people would have just made him some bumbling idiot. Except regarding helium.

I really like this to but I find the animation a little jarring. It's Archer's self-centred attitude that cracks me up -- bit like Roger in American Dad.

Adam Reed had a lot to say about making the show for FX, originally it was going to be very 'Adult Swim' but FX insisted that jokes should come from character and not random weirdness. Reed had to step up his game because he never had to write like that before, quite interesting.

Never seen this show, need to check it out. Sounds very funny.

The person who makes it and some of the voice people were on the adam corolla podcast the other day..

Really love this show. Just my cup of tea (but not the wife's who groans as soon as I put it on).

Was a fan of Sealab previously though.

I tried to watch this a while ago, and couldn't even get through the first 10 minutes before having to switch it off. I thought it was terrible. Then, last weekend, I decided (out of sheer boredom) to give it another try. I don't know why, but something just clicked this time. I haven't laughed so much in ages and watched all the episodes over the course of 1 day.

I'm glad I gave it another shot.

Not seen it from the start but i've seen the last couple that have been on the TV and really enjoyed them. Parts of the airship episode i was laughing so hard it hurt, classic.

This really is a fantastic show, really funny throughout and violent too into the mix.

Loved Frisky Dingo too, even if the second season wasn't as good, glad he's back making another show!

Heads up season 2 starts this week in the US.

On a related note if you like H.Jon Benjamin (Archer) can I recommend Bob's Burgers, which started this month on Fox. Its from the makers of Home Movies (another HJB classic series). I've just seen ep 1 and its very funny indeed. For all you Kristen Schaal lovers out there, shes in it too.... vocally at least.

I watched all 3 so far. It's ok. The mother`s voice irriates me though!
