The wife want a Coffee machine for xmas , but not sure what to go for, Senseo @ £27, Tassimo @ £60 or Krups Dolce Gusto @ £70

I guess running costs are a concideration and taste too, any help would be welcomed

Had a Senseo since they first came out. Use it on a daily basis. It's great!

It's about £2.80 for a pack of 18 Pods.

Can't fault it really, great coffee, and you just chuck the pod away and rinse the tray and stuff.

Never tried the Tassimo or the Gusto.

Cheers.

Where can you get the Senseo for £27?

I got the Tassimo for Christmas and love it. Use it at work every day. Highly recommended.

I got the wife the Tassimo in the end and its fantastic and also use it every day

Top Tip: if you have milk in your coffee heat it up first in the microwave as cold milk cools the coffee down and dosent taste as nice

Yeah, I had a Tassimo machine. It was great, but I accidentally filled it with a water bottle my girlfriend had brought back from Africa and the whole thing got contaminated with parasites.

In the end we had to leave it on the stairs in our flats.

i like my tassimo, should you store the milk in the fridge? i have too many different milk pods and its hard to work out quickly what they are all for (ie cappacino, the latte one and the hot chocolate one).

No its heat treated milk so no need to put it in the fridge

I left a Tassimo machine on the stairs of our flats the other day, whilst getting the shopping in - it disappeared.

Well in the end decided to get the dolce gusto one, spoke to my brother who's had the tassimo and now the dolce one and he reckoned the taste was better from the latter so giving him the benefit of the doubt on it :-)

Good choice, I think. Only just saw this thread so a bit late, but I've got a Dolce Gusto and I think it's brill - much better than I expected. The coffee is better than anything I've had from any of the chain coffee shops. Shame they're quite expensive - 30p or so per coffee.

Can I also recommend the hot chocolate - lovely and thick, amazing taste.

So anyone had both the Dolce Gusto and the Tassimo and care to share which they fund the bets, the Tassimo has more flavours.

1 year down the line and I still love my Tassimo.

Tassimo regularly send money off vouchers, and even sent me 4 free pods just before Xmas.

Luckily for me I was able to try all three of the pod coffee makers before I bought one as they all had demos at a local supermarket over the course of a month or so.

I found the Dolce Gusto to be the best for taste, even though you have to use their own pods and it's also the most expensive. I liked the idea of using Starbucks pods etc. but didn't see the point when they didn't taste as nice as the Dolce Gusto pods, so I bit the bullet and paid out the extra for a Dolce Gusto. You'll find they are often discounted at Amazon.co.uk.
