Broadband Issue - incoming call disconnects internet

Hi

I have a very annoying issue where an incoming call disconnects my internet. It reconnects automatically but its still very annoying.

I have already changed the router and microfilter but the issue is still there.

BT has checked my line and says its fine.

My house is a new build so the wiring for all the Bt ports were already done. I don't really understand phone ports that well, but if the line is fine, that's the only thing I can think of.

I'm out of ideas now.

Thanks

Does it disconnect for the whole call or perhaps just on the initial call and pickup after which it reconnects and then disconnects again after the call ends ?
What are the noise/snr and attenuation values ?

Did it ever work?

That would almost always be a micro filter problem in my experience, how do you have it connected up exactly?

As already mentioned it usually microfilters, check every phone, sky box etc runs through a filter. If you aren't 100% on any of them unplug them and see if it still does it.

If everything looks ok try yet another filter, maybe a different brand or summat.

Is it rock solid and gets decent speeds otherwise?

Check that your burglar alarm isn't connected to the phone line as well... you'll need that filtering if it is.

Could also be a high-end fault. Good luck getting your ISP to get BT out for it though - most ISPs wont touch it with a barge pole due to charges being whacked onto them.

An LL5 (around 160ish if not a BT issue) would need to be raised - but specify the engineer needs a HAWK tester and to test from the bare wires at the customer's site, and also the bare wires in the exchange for full end 2 end testing. It's the only way to find out what is causing it.

I think it disconnects for the whole call.

How do I find the noice and attenuation values?

Thanks for your help.

Oh, I also had only the modem connected without a phone in the house. Still disconnected me when I rang though.

The status page on the router (may have to select connection status from there if say its a netgear router)
