I did not know anything about this but seen a wallpaper poster of it and checked IMDB and Jet Li is starring in it and Brendon Fraser is also back.

I really enjoyed the first one and the 2nd one was also very good apart from the very crap CGI of The Rock at the end.

Shocking ain't it? Most Oscar winners seem to seek out stuff like this to do after winning the award.

Still it's impossible to be worse than the 2nd Mummy film.

Well, I really like the 2 Mummy movies. And Mummy 3 got me at the words 'evil undead Jet Li'. But Mario Bello as Evie? IMO Minnie Driver would've been a perfect replacement. They should've killed off Evie and brought in Bello as Rick's long-lost sister. Or summat.

I've got nothing against the lovely Miss Bello (which is a shame

) but an American in that role won't feel right, although I guess I am interested in seeing just what the hell she'll do with the character.

Didn't know they were doing a Mummy 3 until the other day when I saw an interesting photo of Brendan Fraser on Joystiq where he looks just like Leon from Resident Evil 4!

I really hope this is better than the awful Mummy Returns. The original was brilliant.

loved the first 2 so really happy that most of the cast are back....yes minnie driver could have pulled off the Evie part as someone else wisely posted but that's not happening , my only concern is jet Li !! wot can he do as an actor...please dont turn this into a marshal arts film in Egypt - hope the final battle scene isnt a clone of lethal weapon 4 ending

Well he could probably spell for a start!

Jet Li's a pretty good actor in his own right, but I doubt they hired him for his embroidering skills.

For a start, it ain't gonna be in Egypt; its set in the Far East (most likely China, as Jet plays a Chinese Emperor). I like The Mummy, but not overly keen with The Mummy Returns. There are some parts that are good, but it's mostly a mess and CGI overload. Does anyone here like The Scorpion King? I think it's better than The Mummy Returns. I am probably the only one that likes it.

With Rob Cohen at the helm it good be a decent action/comedy movie, he did good fast and furious, not so well with stealth. Being a fan of Jet Li I look forward to this

You'll be happy with this then, The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian currently in production and written by Sommers. At least it's kept him away from this Mummy film.
Seriously I think he only had one really good film in him, because everything from Mummy 2 to Van Helsing has been Dire with a capital D.

I agree with most of you, Rachel Weisz - out, Egypt - out = me - out unless it receives very good reviews.
