Windows Won't Detect My Wireless Keyboard & Mouse On Start Up

I bought a wireless keyboard & mouse from Marks & Spencer.

When I set it up within Windows, I can use it fine. When I reboot Windows, the wireless keyboard & mouse do not seem to work. Although I don't get an error on bootup that a keyboard cannot be detected.

I have already set in the bios "enable usb keyboard".

Have I missed something else out?

think the enable usb keyboard is for legacy software that can't see usb keyboards e.g dos window based ones , so not relevant as such (or at least that's the description in the bios on my older PC).
Can you access the bios on bootup using the keyboard ? Might be worth checking the manufacturers website for more up to date drivers

I just uninstalled the driver that came with the cd & downloaded the new driver from:

http://www.trust.com/service/downloa...px?artnr=14627

Now on bootup I get the error "unable to detect keyboard".

I plugged in the old keyboard & it still shows usb keyboard as enabled.

This is my dad's pc running Windows XP.

I have the same keyboard set on my personal PC & it works fine on my machine.

checked the device manager for drivers for this keyboard and any yellow flagged entries ? Did the old keyboard have drivers and are these still listed as possibly it still drying to operate from the old ps/2 keyboard.

I checked hardware manager & there are no yellow flagged entries. Although since the keyboard works when I connect it within Windows then I wouldn't expect to see any.

I just rebooted again using my normal keyboard & the wireless mouse. It boots up fine with the wireless mouse. It just doesn't seem to like the keyboard at boot up.

Any other ideas?

hmm does it pick the keyboard up if you unplug the receiver and plug it back in while in windows ? If you plug the ps/2 keyboard in while still powered up does it recognise it immediatedly ?

Yes both the mouse & keyboard appear to work fine if I unplug & plug back in the receiver whilst in Windows.ggf

Yes. When I take out the PS2 keyboard & plug it back in, the wireless keyboars stops working & the PS2 starts to work. It seems whichever was plugged in last takes precendence.
