Hi All,

Has anyone else watched this program on BBC, it's hilarious!

I don't like it very much. The set-up is an amalgam of many other sitcoms and the tone is far too jokey and insubstantial.

A sitcom needs to be 'good' outside of being funny. Take away the jokes and it should still stand up. This wouldn't.

Some of the jokes are okay, some aren't but that's not the point -- there's very little in here that I think an audience will latch on to.

Saw the first episode. It was O.K. a few good one liners but the show so wanted to be American it was quite off putting. Better than most BBC1 friday night sit coms that's for sure.

It is co-written by 6music DJ Andrew Collins who seems a nice fella so i hope it does well.

It's undemanding fluff & the 3 leads are generally likeable. IMHO, it's not great, but it's not terrible, which is saying something for a BBC1 sitcom these days.

The 'sit' has been done hundreds of times before (guy sharing flat with girl he's not dating. Hmm, wonder how that one'll end up?), but the rate of jokes is so high that even though a lot of them miss, quite a few of them hit their targets nicely.

I'll watch the rest of the series, but I can't see it going to series 2.

I watched episode 1 as one of my favourite actrsses was in it (Alexandra Gilbreath as the 'nutty' date) and it made me guffaw far more than I was expecting but it was clear they'd given Tim Vine some of the best one-liners to replicate his stand-up technique.

Last nights episode was consistently good. Glad I stuck with it as I was going to not bother with it after the first episode (which was poor imho)

That Megan Dodds is lovely (maybe a bit too skinny)...I'd never heard of her before!

I have to say I'm really enjoying it, far more than I thought I would. Very consistent. The only part I don't like is by the actor playing Tim the ex boyfriend. The blonde american is awesome !

It's odd, I watched it just because it was on and I was already sitting down and was surprised at how great it was. The premise and plots are hoary old cliches but it had lots of good lines and fun performances. I was very pleasantly surprised.

More laughs per minute than any sitcom I've seen in a long time.

After cack like "My Hero" and "My Family" it makes a change for a BBC1 "mainstream" comedy to actually be funny.

Watched the second episode on Friday (missed the first) definitely had some quite funny lines but it just seemed like people standing around quoting funny lines, they didn't seem to really gel as characters. Maybe something where it's going to take them a while to settle into the characters.

I also sat down to watch it last week as I'd herd a few good things about (mainly the high gag count).

Was surprised to find myself enjoying it - even paused the Sky+ when I had to nip to the kitchen near the end!

The natural, instant reaction to new UK sitcoms seems to be that they must be rubbish, and I certainly dismissed this at first. But I'm glad I made the effort as it was pretty enjoyable.

Deserves more coverage and a second series.

There were only 6 eps i think. The last one was the one where he got the job as a the building handy man.

Hopefully it'll be back, I'm missing this show already!

I saw a few bits of it, and didn't really rate it - though I did hear a funny line, something like

Woman "Come on (character name), theres no 'I' in TEAM"
Man "Theres no F in WAY either..."

I think it deserves another chance - but the ratings were pretty poor so I'm not convinced that the BBC will give it another go, which would be a shame.

That was the only episode i saw. Seemed alright to me. Again, the curse of only having 6 shows a series.

Quick heads up for the repeats of this on Monday nights, 10.35pm, on BBC1.

I saw a few of these first time around and quite liked it, but I've been laughing out loud at the repeats.

I see it just won the Golden Rose for Comedy and a second series is in the works as well apparently. Best new BBC sitcom of recent years I think.
