The Art of Hammer book is now in stock at Amazon, at a not too shabby price of 14.74
I was at the Hammer Exhibition at Whitby a couple of weeks ago. It was a good day, exhibition of props, Q&A sessions etc. Interesting news about a forthcoming definitive DVD boxed set of Hammer Dracula movies.
I'll post some pics of some items I got signed later.
My local had Dracula and Taste the Blood of Dracula ones in stock. Officially licensed. 2.50 per pair. I bought both pairs... I wish they would bring out some good memorabilia (as well as socks, manbags, wallets)
Rumours are that Forbidden Planet may be bringing out some exclusive mini busts.
Using this thread as the newer Hammer thread seems to be for BD's only. Icon Film Distributors are releasing some classic Hammer onto DVD on September 12th here in the U.K., titles include: The Abominable Snowman, Captain Kronos, Quatermass Collection, X The Unknown and Dick Barton Collection. They are £5.99 for the single discs and £7.49 for the Quatermass and Dick Barton sets. Optimum of course are releasing QATP on BD a week later in a two disc BD/DVD set.
Icon also have the rights to many other Hammer titles, including those once held by DD Home Entertainment. Also Satanic Rites of Dracula is rumoured to have been scheduled for release, don't know by whom late this year but looking more likely next year.
I've also read a rumour that Hammer on their twitter mentioned using the BFI restoration on a BD release of Dracula.
