Just a quick survey really - we're interested to find out how many forum visitors also visit DVD Times. Also, we'd be interested to know what we could do to convince those of you that don't to start visiting DVD Times as one of your DVD news sources...
I don't read DVD TImes after I spent 2 days writing a review of a DVD 'Violent City', and then having my emails ignored about whether you would use it or not on the site.

It's nice to know either way
Don't recall ever seeing an email regarding 'Violent City' - I know that there were two review submissions before I had a hard drive crash and I posted a news item asking for people with unreplied mail to resend:
I can't say I religiously read reviews, but it is very useful for news and press releases, etc. Having said that, most of the info there has already been revealed by various means right here...
I've also just discovered the release dates section (relatively new or updated recently??), which I must admit I find invaluable. DVD retailers obviously have similar sections, but the key releases are all I'm generally interested in so the section at Times is perfect.

I used to look at the site every day, but I seem to find less of interest there now. I'm not as interested in keeping up to date with reviews and releases as I was.

The release dates have been there since the beginning of June and are updated along with news items now
I've only recently started reading reviews there - but do visit. Maybe some sort of integration between the sites would be good - reviews linking back to threads here, and maybe a list of the latest reviews on the reviews forum page (not as a thread, but more like an advert down the side of the page).
I'm more interested in Reviews than News, as anyone who has ever bought a DVD online and signed up for a newsletter gets bombarded with news anyhow.
A very nice feature of DVD Times is that the reviews are superb quality (probably the best UK R2 reviews out there, although for R1 I prefer digitallyobsessed.com) and always seem to be written by writers with an excellent knowledge of the genre. I often see a film reviewed (typically a foreign film reviewed by Mark or Noel) that I would not otherwise have heard of, and that has led me to some very nice DVDs, so thank you.
For the future, I wish there were some way to filter DVD news by distributor or type of film, for example, I am not interested in news of Region 1 releases as I prefer PAL DVDs, but I am especially interested in French R2 releases; I do not want to see Anchor Bay news or HKL news as I visit their sites anyhow; I do not like any films in the horror genre.
The competitions are great, as is the good relationship with MK2 and other overseas distributors.
I would like to see more comprehensive reviews of mainstream releases, as I am often trying to decide whether to buy or to rent, and the quality of the disk will swing it for me. Frankly, I have given up with DVD.reviewer as although they have many more reviews, I do not agree with their reviews any more - they are (mostly) not knowledgeable about film, and they will say that films have good transfer quality when quite clearly they do not and vice versa. Zvi Josef, a prolific reviewer there, is often reviewing the Israel NTSC releases not the UK releases. Richard Booth, another prolific reviewer there, thinks that there is shimmering on Danny Ocean's jacket the Ocean's Eleven (2001) R2 DVD whereas it is in fact an A grade transfer and shimmer-free. Also, I am not sure that those guys know what edge enhancement is.
As said elsewhere, the different views here are important to me - but I do appreciate the thorough reviews of DVD releases on the DVD Times site. (ex. Technical views, quality and/or problems with various releases).
I visit on the odd occasion, although It's the only DVD news site I do visit! I'm in the industry, and it can be a useful tool, especially when I see comments about the quality of subtitles

Well either that, or you pay us to visit
Ian
I do plan to add a section with the latest DVD Times reviews to the reviews forum (similar to the latest news in this forum) - it needs a little more work than the news bit though so need to find time to do it properly
