Kitchen Knife Set - Reccomendations?

'ello

Just moving house and need a set of Kitchen Knifes and looking for some recommendations.

Budget say 50 - 75 and looking for a decent set that's going to last a while and keep and edge reasonably well and cover most forseeable uses, so Chefs Knife, Paring Knife, Bread Knife etc.

Been looking at some of the Sabbatier sets around 50-60 for a 5 knife set, anyone got any recommendations? Doesn't need to be in a block, happy to put em in the drawer as well!

A knife block will be better than storing them in a drawer.

I recommend an electric knife sharpener. I have one and they're great.

I have one of the Sabatier sets, got it with vouchers when we were married in Debenhams sale. 50 I think, still going strong seven years later

Still serviceable for when she inevitably knifes me.

We have a cheap Kitchen Devils set for things like a bread knife which only get used occasionally but then splashed more on two Global knives - one chef's knife and one smaller paring type knife. Both cover all jobs and are amazingly sharp and lovely to use.
