[PC/PS4] Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice on Steam

How is there not already a thread for this? It's amazing!

The game people are calling a AAA Indie title from the developers of Devil May Cry and ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West.

Note though that if you're expecting a Devil May Cry combo hack n slash - you're gonna be disappointed. This is more of an atmospheric psychological thriller. It's more if someone took the idea of a walking sim (a genre I mostly hate) and made an actual game out of the concept rather than have you hold the forward key for a few hours.

I watched a stream of this for a bit today...semed more a cinematic experience rather than a game.

I didn't compare it to a walking sim for nothing.

It's the number one selling game on Steam in the UK right now (number 2 worldwide)

It is very good, ok not much happens but it's different, incredibly atmospheric & the audio with headphones is outstanding

I was reading about half the people on another forum whine about it seeming too scripted, and the other half saying it wasn't scripted at all. Gameranx did a good video review of it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtWz...annel=gameranx

Guess I am quite close to the end now, I'm a big fan of cinematic games and think this is outstanding! It is linear and a bit slow, and some of the puzzles are repetitive and maybe drag on a bit too long but the rest is so well done.

Combat is good & although limited there are numerous different enemies, some all at the same time so you do have to think about fighting, also some epic boss battles.

Visually it's amazing, the world is very bleak & quite varied, not much in the way of interaction but quite a bit of exploration if you want to find everything.

The audio alone is really what stands out, with headphones it's incredible!! there's a great story & all the voice acting is also brilliant

The main male voice in this sounded like either the Dad in Peppa Pig or the main Talksport advertising voice...found it very distracting.
