There I was, happily enjoying the return of my favourite television show. And then

Strong episode otherwise, the pacing and flow was MUCH improved over what's been happening for the past few seasons. The writing allowed for scenes to breathe and really be dug into. Wonderful opening sequence.

Lol. Talentless idiot is extremely harsh. Writes and performs all his own songs, which is more than most pop stars can say. Fair play to him I say.

Great opener IMO. Loved the Euron scenes in particular.

You may want to check his 'writing' credentials in detail. The god awful Galway Girl has 9, yes 9 writers. I don't hate the guy but he shouldn't be anywhere near the level of sales he is. By the end of the year he'll more than likely be the most successful artist ever. Just let that sink in.

Great first episode for me. I'm liking where The Hound story is going.

Only because he wrote it with the Irish band he sometimes performs it with.

Great episode apart from Ed's cameo, it was just so bad with his smug face as he faced the camera. Out of all the shows, I wouldn't expect GoT to do a crappy cameo

That was generally brilliant. "The North remembers"

Most of what the Hound says is entirely quotable too, he says it as it is

The Cameo was unnecessarily distracting.

Matt Cardle begs to differ. He's a prick and his appearance in this was wholly unnecessary. As was that of the fat talentless oaf out of This Is England.

Other than that, it was an alright episode.

First time I've watched it on Sky Atlantic though and it's back to online content for the remainder.

Yeah I watch via online content also. I take it Sky Atlantic is full of adverts, that would really do my head in.

Liked it, good opener and setting it up for the season. Everyone else has said it but WTF? He didn't even look the part, he looked like they'd just stuck a costume on Ed Sheeran, for someone who'd been wild camping for a year he looked ok

Why was nobody at Dragonstone?

Yes, Stannis had it from after Robert's rebellion until setting out for the wall to help Jon Snow.

I wonder if you can still make out the imprint of Melisandre's arse cheeks on that map table?

That's why Dany pulled down the Baratheon banner which was still hanging up.

Really enjoyed it.

It had that bang Straight into the episode feel with no let up, which I desperately wanted.
I was very pleased that despite my anxiousness to watch, I waited until after dinner! (It was a tie between Ed bloody Sheeran and Sam's poo montages)

Daenerys’s long-awaited arrival at Dragonstone sent a tingle down my spine, she looks like she means business and it helps she looks hot while doing so.

I figured he'd have left someone behind or someone else would have taken it.

I've no issues with cameos on a TV show, but if you just couldn't buy ed sheeran being a soldier!

Best line? Sansa telling little finger 'theres no need for you to have the last word, I'll just assume it was something clever'
