Sorry about the quality, but I could see he was eating something orange and I was cooking at the time, taken through the back door.

Went fishing again today.
A couple of Mallards flew over just as I was getting the camera out.

And that was it, normally on this particular stretch of river I see dippers, kingfishers, mallards on the water, mink and sometimes an otter. Today when I take the camera with me, nothing, on the plus side I did catch a couple of nice trout.

Well that's a first for me, never seen those on the river before.
I had to google them to see what they look like.

He's not really wildlife but I thought he'd be happier in here.

Bumping the thread. Had a day out on a Kingfisher photography day. Beautiful birds. Fantastic day. Unfortunately, although these photos are mine, they weren't taken with my lens. Need to find a few grand to buy one!

I like those, #2 the best for me, although I do like the rain in the first one.
What kind of distance were they ?.

Thanks. They were about 15 to 20 feet away. The photos are uncropped at close to 400mm on a crop sensor (600mm)

Lovely. Superb, natural tones, vivid detail and great composition.

I don't generally have the patience to wait to get wildlife shots like some of the excellent photos in this thread. But there's been an escaped Harris' Hawk make a home round here and, as it's not something you expect to see in the centre of Manchester, I've been hoping to get a shot of it.

So when I glanced outside the other day and saw it perched on a street light I made a dash for my camera and quickly stuck on the telephoto lens to get a few handheld shots from my bedroom. Still hoping to get that photo of it in fight though.

A few from a recent trip to the Picos de Europa in Spain:
Griffon Vulture

Egyptian Vulture (I know it isn't exactly a closeup but I like the background):
