Just seen this in Currys, looks like a pretty good TV. Is it worth paying an extra £150 for 4K? Don't watch a huhpge number of Blue-Rays and as I said earlier internet is so slow it's hardly worth streaming anything?

That's £150 more though isn't it? The Currys one is reduced to £350 which seem s like a lot of TV for the money!

That was to give 4K....if you want it. Personally I'd be happy with the currys one as HD is good enough for me. And JL is 5 year warranty as standard.

Still haven't got around to buying a new TV yet. I've looked at the Hisense 4K TV's and there are some good prices but some of the reviews aren't amazing...slow response, clunky menus etc would I do better paying an extra £80 and going for this https://electrical.coop.co.uk/brands...tx49dx600b-bk/ same TV is £529 in Richer sounds with a 6 year warranty. Not sure how long a warranty Co Op offer?

maybe RS will price match, maybe not since they're giving an extended warranty. one thing i will say is that the RS warranty is solid - our 60" plasma broke 3 weeks from the end of its extended warranty period, an engineer came within a couple of days and they ended up replacing it as near "like for like" as possible with a brand new 60" 4K LED, no quibbles, no arguments. (bought in the days when the warranty was 10% extra, so £150, although i negotiated a discount to effectively get it for nothing).

I did look into a price match but somewhere on the RS site it states they will only price match if the other site is offering a 5 year warranty as standard...not sure how long the Co-Op warranty is all I can find (after a very brief look) is links to their extended warranty.

I don't would spend the extra £80 to get a Panasonic over Hisense.

Really? I've just been put off by some bad reviews with people saying they wished they had paid the extra as picture isn't brilliant and slow clunky apps and menus?

Any views on Toshiba?

Seen this https://www.tesco.com/direct/toshiba...18&expand=true looks a lot of TV for the money. Popped into Currys the other day and salesman there said JVC, Toshiba are all made by same factory in China that produces cheaper makes and are badged as JVC or Toshiba?

LG look good value with good reviews.

Sounds about right.. Wouldn't touch JVC.. How they have fallen from their 80's VCR days.. Not a big Tosh TV fan but my 27" LCD which is still working at a friend's didn't let me down but I'd stick to LG,Sammy and Panny's for a quality set.

Finally sorted! Started yesterday with an LG from Currys for £419 http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-...44772-pdt.html but during setup it soon became clear the TV was knackered...colour was awful and it had a grey stripe down one side...so took it back today and ended up with this Panasonic https://www.richersounds.com/product...ana-tx49dx600b a far better TV IMO and so much easier to navigate around than the LG

Thanks to all for advice in this thread, just need a good sound bar now!!
