I know the post is old, but somehow i can really see Baron Cohen pulling off being Freddy. Apart from the singing of course

Yes, sad that they're joking about his involvement as he's the only thing that can save this from becoming a soft-focus whitewash.

The man was a coke-snorting slut by all accounts. He was also a genius. This film can't be PG-rated.

Rami Malek now playing Freddie. As much as I like him, it's a bad fit IMO.

It'll still make piles of money no doubt, but it won't be what it should have been.

I'm sure this would have worked best as an 18.

Imagine if The Doors movie was a PG rated film. It would be quite short, i'm nobody, i'm famous, I'm dead. Can't even add in the drunk bits if it's PG.

meh

The band are on record saying that the film will not be sanitised in any way.
We shall see, of course.

Just not holding out much hope for this. Is the story that interesting? He was active a fairly long time, they wrote some good songs and then he had a sad ending. Just not sure how it'd work as a film. What bit will the focus on?

But they don't want the film to end with Freddie dying but to continue To show their Stirling work scrapping barrels ever since.

Maybe that'll be the first scene and the rest will be them trying to salvage their careers. Working with 5ive! Begging Robbie Williams to work with them, etc.

Brian saving badgers would be an uplifting ending.

So it's going to be about a group of middle class young men at University, one of whom finds a sixpence and discovers he can play horrendous guitar **** with it?

Don't forget he's got to build his guitar with his dad from an old fireplace first...

The second half of the film could be like the force awakens where they search for the missing bass player.

I know we're all having a joke, but I never thought the Queen story was a very interesting one. It took place over a long period and I never got the impression that anything exciting massively took place. They got stiffed early on I recall and then started making money.
