Pana Dmr-e30 Dvd-r Compatibility List (so Far)

Hi if anybody is interested heres my early playabillity findings
with DVD-R recordered on my PANA DMR-E30

Pana Ra-71 yes
Reoc A5 yes
Reoc A3 yes
Aiwa 480 no
LG DVD-3350 no
Memorex dvd rom drive yes
DVP-S725D yes (thanks Ragnar)
more to follow

I was surprised to find backing up DVDs was a problem
as I assumed that as I was recording an analogue signal that my
macrovision box would act the same as when going to vcr
but in fact a lot of R2 are locked out from the Pana due to copy management flags in the analogue signal being detected by the recorder. I got round this with a powered scart macro cable (Ł49) ouch! but this only works with Pal discs!

But I must say that the Pana is just AWESOME!!!!!!!
More soon

Paul:confused:

You can add a yes for the Sony DVP-S725D to that list.

Without wishing to rain on your parade, you do not say what type of dvd-r you use;it is the crucial factor invariably.Just for the record i used verbatim dvd-r and had no problems with a Tosh 100/210.

I think you will find that the traxdatas are the best dvd-r's you can buy.

They work on loads of dvd players and ps2s.

For a quid or less they can't be beat.
