Kickstarter board games thread

Need to watch for import duty on larger orders I expect?

ETA: Oh, looks like they're guaranteeing to refund that if you get hit.

looks like a nice game but $27.50 per copy means £22.60 before local shipping so quite expensive for a 'pocket' game - might be tempted though

Hi Mate,

I had seen this one, and I had considered setting up a Group Buy for 10 copies, but having done the maths, the saving was only £3 per copy for the Group Buy Deluxe edition, compared to individual Deluxe edition...

The cost breakdown is:

1 x Deluxe copy plus shipping = $36 (£30 at the current rubbish exchange rate)

10 x Group Buy Copies plus shipping = $275, or $27.50 per copy (£23 at the current exchange rate), then plus the £4 internal UK delivery cost, making it £27/copy...

I am more than happy to organise the Group Buy if you guys are OK with the £3 saving...and I suppose with the current poor £/$ exchange rate, a £3 saving is probably worth it...

So, if we can get 9 others, I will be happy to set this up...Anyone for it? The Crimson Creek went well

Cheers,
Kevin

Yeah, didn't really consider the internal postage and rubbish £ - not a huge saving is it!
But a saving is a saving... Where are you based Kevin? Could always do local pickup!

Not huge interest here it seems, but if anyone does want a group buy on this there is a really friendly Facebook group doing one that I've joined in on at the link above

Can I persuade anyone to back Quodd Heroes with me?
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...s/quodd-heroes

If we can get 6 it drops from around £60 delivered to about £40...

Looks really fun

Thanks for the heads up. That looks really cool. I'll watch the playthrough video tonight and very possibly back it. Looks quite fun and tense.

It looks fun, but I'm not a fan of how much jumping fully on board and getting the expansions would be - if I went basic, I'd feel I'd missed out. Everything but the miniatures feels like it should have been a funding goal to me

Sounds like fun, basic only as seems to have enough weight to keep me entertained! Never do get round to playing with the expansions anyway...

Yeah, the Ultimate Dreamer does look good...$10 off the total cost of the individual items, EU Friendly and free shipping to the UK...

Definitely worth looking a bit deeper at

A couple of new Kickstarter projects I like the look of. But neither is very cheap.

When Weta workshop makes a boardgame about Giant Killer Robots

So you think you can do better at creating your own Jurassic Park?

On the plus side for Dinosaur Island, the Deluxe edition is priced quite close to the regular one.

So tempted by both. Probably can't afford either.

GKR looks great, but expensive.
If you want something a little cheaper:

I like the LOOK of GKR but I'm not sure the gameplay sounds worth the investment...
