Been listening to bit and bobs by PIL..and having seen the first Punk Britannia..I have ordered the Sex Pistols album 'Never Mind The ********'...so a bit of a Lydon thang going on!
I have never heard the Sex Pistols album before, and only really familiar with a few PIL tunes, but liking what I have heard.
May have to dive into the PIL bsck catalogue after I have digested the new PIL
Surprisingly enjoying the new Ultravox album. Was never a big fan of their early albums but they had plenty of good singles. New album remains very 80's sounding & apart from a couple of dull tracks the majority are really good.
Hush Arbors / Arbouretum - Aureola
The Chris Robinson Brotherhood - Big Moon Ritual
Paul McCartney - Ram (Mono LP)
Bill Callahan - Apocalypse
Lee Ranaldo - Between The Times And The Tides
Soulsavers - The Light The Dead See
The Marshall Tucker Band - Way Out West: Live In San Francisco 1973
Only listened to it twice but it's pretty solid. Its not like the Thurston Moore album, which is very much a solo effort. Lee Ranaldo's album is a band recording with a great line-up including Steve Shelley.
Recommended if you're a Sonic Youth fan, but it does jam a bit (which I like).
I've been wondering what the new PiL album would sound like given Jah Wobble isn't involved, might have to check it out as the reviews have been quite positive.
Mentioned this further up the thread, but now that I've got round to buying "Forever So" by Husky, I can highly recommend it.
The first Australian band signed to sub-pop, you'll probably enjoy this if you like Fleet Foxes/Midlake, but it also reminded me of Beck's Mutations and The Decembrists in places. One of the albums of the year so far.
