An Idiot Abroad is 20p on Kindle at the moment. Picked it up last time it was on offer and it's OK, though not a great deal more in it than the actual TV programmes. An Idiot Abroad

at 20p it would be rude not to really. I find most travel books fairly easy to read on a kindle, much more than random crime or chick lit.

Thanks Nigel! I'd be daft not to go for it at that price.

Perfect People by Peter James - 20p

not an author i have read before but his name rings a bell.

Quote:
Peter James is acknowledged as being one of the top thriller writers in the UK, and his series of crime novels featuring DI Roy Grace are the best of the current genre. But in his new novel PERFECT PEOPLE he has proved he can depart from the formula and break the mould.
It gives a vividly detailed description o f the process involved in creating a genetically modified baby. A young couple are grieving over the death of their four-year-old son from a rare genetic disorder. They desperately want another child, but fear it might inherit the same disease. From the moment they meet the sinister geneticist who offers to create a new child from their cells, the pages just keep on turning themselves. The ending is so horrifyingly scary that I was unable to sleep properly for several nights. --Joan Collins picked PERFECT PEOPLE for her Book of the Year in this week's Mail on Sunday
See, even Joan collins liked it!

Doesn't seem to be 20p when I search for it - maybe it was in error?

Ken Follett - Eye of the needle 20p
His weapon is the stiletto, his codename: The Needle. He is Henry Faber, a coldly professional killer and Germany's most feared deep-cover agent in Britain. His task: to discover the Allies' plans for D-Day, and get them to Germany at all costs. It's a task he undertakes with customary relish and ruthlessness - until he encounters Storm Island, and a woman called Lucy . . .

Thanks for that link. For 20p I might go for the economics book - I'll feel virtuous about buying it, and then, when I don't actually read it, I won't feel I've wasted too much money ...

I really enjoy his series of Roy Grace books, so 20p for this is well worth a punt!

I'm too lazy to check through the thread to see if these have been mentioned already, but there are a few cheapo James Herbert books at the moment:

Sepulchre (£1.00)

Others (£0.99)

Fluke was £1.00 but now seems to have gone back up in price.
