HMV have Loveless (2CD) and Isn't Anything for £8.99 and £7.99 respectively. Release dates pegged for 7 May.

Both CDs of the Loveless reissue are up to stream on the Guardian website. Slightly ironic that they are up as a stream, but they give you a rough idea of how they sound.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musi...oveless-stream

The difference to the original CD is much less than I expected. Noticeable - particularly on the vocals - but not as radical as I thought they might be. Might be more pronounced on the CDs themselves rather than a stream, mind you.

Might just go for the EPs CD, and the Isn't Anything CD. Who am I kidding - bound to get all 3 for completeness sake

At least it will only be 3 copies of Loveless that I will own - reckon I have about 5 different versions of Pet Sounds.

Had a quick listen to the cds and what the hell took Shields so long? Bang up the bass a bit and lower the vocals in the mix and job done already! Massively underwhelmed

seems like there might be a manufacturing error with the Loveless discs too - what is labelled as CD1, is actually the "analog" tape, with CD2 being the DAT remaster. The wrong way around. And there is some sort of transfer glitch on "what you want" on cd1 at 2:46

http://thepowerofindependenttrucking...remasters.html

they only had 4 (or more) years to get this right. And the major labels wonder why people don't buy CDs any more?

Just got mine - put them into itunes to rip the first cd of the EP collection and got offered a trio of choices for cdinfo/tracklisting - pick the middle one! the last one looks like it has the right name, but somebody has entered the tracks in completely the wrong order...

I've got the 2 cd leakage from a few years ago and I can't really *hear* any difference at 2:46 on "what you want" on the mp3s, or my itunes rip of the new cd.... May be something you can only see in an analysis...

Its a digital sounding glitch. Like a cd skip or a streaming blip.

Hmm. It's possible that my itunes rip has smoothed it out, as I'm at work listening, so will try at home. are we agreed that cd1 is the actual analogue remaster, as per the Power of Independent Trucking?
