Thinking of this phone as my next upgrade, own a S2 atm.
The main issue i see is the size of it, i thought the s2 would be too big but now find it fine. Been iphone user before the S2 so no way can go back to a 3.5 screen now.
I have one, love it!! I too thought it would simply be too big but thats so not the case, phone is fantastic in everyday use, screen is fantastic, battery life is the best I have ever experienced on a smart phone and I have had them all.
Cant fault it to be honest! my wifes iphone 4s seems like something from the iceage to me and I am a fan of iphones but the screen is way too small having come from a galaxy S II and now having the note.
Got one 2 months back and I love it, beautiful screen fits in your pocket fine despite the guff some people spout about it.
I use it as a mobile e-reader, media player, podcast listener, web browser and the occasional game. My Asus tablet stays at home these days as this has replaced it for my travels. Battery is pretty great too considering previous android phones and the size of the screen. With moderate usage (4-5 hours a day calls/texts/web browsing/music etc) get 2 days out of the battery, 3 if I'm very conservative.
Camera is pretty good too also for video but I'm no expert.
I would say try it in your hand at a mobile store, I'm 6ft 5 with big hands so it's perfect for me, small hands may struggle. It's certainly not designed for the 50th percentile like most phones.
The only snag if it is one is the stylus, I have limited use for it, but it hides away well for the rare occasions it's needed.
A work colleague has the Note and I was really impressed with it. Does the Note have a removable battery and a micro SD Card slot? The HTC One X doesn't have a removable battery or a micro SD Card slot which is giving me second thoughts about buying one.
Before I got mine I got the measurements from a website and cut a piece of cardboard to size, then held it to my ear and put it in my pocket and other silly-looking stuff to see if I was happy with the size. I even drew a homescreen on it in biro...

Had one a couple of month, great phone. Size is not an issue for me at all.
Download tv series straight to it and watch on the phone, everything looks awesome!
I charge mine everyday, but its usually above 50%, so could probably get a couple of days good usage.
I picked one up just after Xmas. Wouldn't be without it now - a fantastic device which, to my clumsy hands, is just the right size.
I do a lot of book/mag/comic reading on my Note, so the screen's perfect for that. Performance wise, it's never let me down - far faster and more reliable than my old Galaxy S.
On battery life, I'm a fairly heavy user and charge mine every couple of days
Got mine at the weekend, Loving it, I use my phones for internet more than calls so its a dream.
Gone from Iphone 4 so just getting used to Andriod and having to stop going fo the power button at the top which isn't there, not sure i would wantto go back to a smaller phone.
Few people have gone whats that but I am happy with the size.
I'm due an upgrade in a few weeks so have decided to go for the Note. Currently got an iPhone 4 but fancy a change and I like the idea of a bigger screen otherwise I may have gone for the Galaxy SIII.

I was in the same boat and went for the HTC One X. Best move I've made as I'm loving Android. Wouldn't want a phone much bigger though.
