I’ll be damned if I’m going back and exploring its half dozen predecessors, obviously, but here’s an album that ensures this miserable cynic sticks around for what comes next. No doubt about it. Dismiss this one and you’re a bigger fool than I am.
Sorry mate, great write up, but this sums it up for me. You simply cannot and shouldn't dimsiss the likes of 'Color and the Shape', in fact there are other Foo's albums which shouldn't be ignored either but I won't go into that! Dismiss those and you'd be a fool! :)

Then I'm certainly a fool as I'd rather drink stale urine than listen to this miserable, insipid excuse for a band. I once had the misfortune to see them live at what one imagines was their peak and, dear God, I had to pinch myself to stay awake. They are a coffee shop executive's idea of what a rock n roll band should be.
Good review, and sums up my feeling since Colour... I just got bored of them bar the odd standout single, but just couldn't get back into an album again. This changes that, had it playing loads and love it.
DeadYankee this is why music is so subjective, I totally disagree with you :)
However, without giving it at least a chance, the OP will never know how good/bad it is, in the least it deserves a chance to make an impact one way or another.
