It really depends on how much you enjoy life and whether you want to risk wasting a couple hours of it. ;)

thescrounger 10-10-2005 20:41

You all know you've got it on pre-order. ;)

Sith was rubbish. Stilted, CGI-swamped, over-long, fan-boy pandering garbage.

Every fibre of my being longed to like it, but it was poop. Pretty, but poop.

The blame lies squarely at the door of Mr. Lucas, who should have let someone else direct the prequels. He still would have had creative control, yet without hurtling blindly down a path of selfish pomposity. He really needed someone on set to keep him grounded, not just a series of fawning yes-men (I'm looking at you McCallum!).

The acting is universally awful, talented thesps such as Ewan Macgregor, Sam Jackson, Jimmy Smits, Natalie Portman et al all struggle with dense, pseudo-classical dialogue. Hayden Christensen is a good actor, but not in Star Wars. Instead of exuding the menace and ruthlessness of Vader, he seems more like a child burning ants on an anthill, albeit with a lightsaber.

Speaking of lightsabers, the "Duel to end all duels" at the climax of the film, was a joke. Compared to the fluidity and panache of Episode I's swordplay, Sith looks amateurish and almost verges on comedy. Why Lucas felt the need to edit it to look like The Fall Guy's speeded up car chases, I will never understand. The less said about the Super Mario aspects towards the end, the better.

I'm sure the DVD will be a technical tour-de-force, with amazing quality of picture and sound, but its only polishing a turd.

I bet you I'll end up buying it though.

you can't say no.

Anyone know the cheapest place to preorder a PAL copy ?

Nope I#ve not, I haven't bought any of the prequels as I have no urge to ever watch them again

JimDriver2 11-10-2005 09:44

cheapest PAL is CD-WOW with the current discount.

Johnny Vodka 11-10-2005 09:59

I won't. I might watch it on ITV in two years' time if I'm not cutting my toenails that night, though.

Mr Majestik 11-10-2005 10:30

It's worth watching for the "NNNnnnoooooooo" scene.

Funniest bit of cinema in years.

Grandmaster 11-10-2005 11:05

I don't have it on pre-order either.
